The NRL has to do something about delieberate penalties when a team is defending their line. Deadset blight on the game.

agreed

the superleague will be doing something about it

they will be trialling that if you give away 2 penalties inside a minute on your line, the offender will have to move behind the ingoal and not be able to defend until you get the ball back

essentially, it is a sinbin without being a sin bin

so if the other team keeps getting drop outs, you cant join the defensive line

Bizarre calls by the refs. Maloney copped a punch to the head gets split open by it and gets penalised.

Our attack did not look good at all . I felt it was to side to side and they just covered us easily .

I know a lot of you are saying our attack wasn't great but we created some real chances, got held up over the line a few times, cowboys have one of the best defences in the game so it will always be hard to score points against them in this kind of game.

They also have the best attack in the league at the moment so limiting them to one try early on is a great effort, essentially we kept them out for 74 minutes, not many teams can say they've done that this year.

Gutsy effort and we should be proud of how they played last night, a win is a win, this will give the boys the belief that they can go all the way this year.

Nothing wrong with grinding out a win. Wouldn't want to do it like that every week but it shows we can get it done when it gets tough.

Thought Morgan was real flat by his standards last night, don't know if he was carrying a niggle or side effects from getting knocked out couple weeks ago.

Yeah it was 13,110. Looked like more, a Alltime atmosphere.
agree with this. It's the loudest the crowd has been in a very long time. Probably because of the way the game was officiated.

The barba call was a absolute joke and if archer is serious then who ever is responsible for that call should be demoted.

I was happy with the way we controlled the game. We strangled them out of the game in the second half with great game management.

It's amazing what happens when we have a kicking game. With Chad and maloney on either side and ennis being able to pick the moments when to kick it just gives us those extra dimensions in our kicking game.

While that part of the game was good. We need to capitalise on the amount of field territory we create for ouselves so it's a bit disappointing we didn't score more points considering the amount of ball we had done their end in the second half

Having all that ball in the 2nd half and not coming up with a try is a bit of a concern. Would like to think that we could have crossed a couple of times. Plus side was that we did have a good kicking game and we also had 1 try only conceded. Huge win leading into bye and hopefully a few more wins at home. Loving going to work lately. Suddenly everyone's other team is Sharks

It was concerning, but it was the premiers, there was no period we were out of energy or not hungry. Thats what i liked, it was much like the melboune game in rd 4. Most games between the top teams r like this.

melbourne game was different as we actually created chances against them but bombed them

Just because they are the premiers doesn't mean it makes it ok. We never looked like scoring. It's not good enough to have that much ball and the only try we get is a try which was against the run of play

Most games are like this? Both the cowboys v Broncos games this year were far from like this

Were they not close tough battles? Yeah they were putting 18-20 on the board but still tough defensive efforts.
We can blame our attack all we want but dont discredit the amazing defensive effort from the cowboys last night. If the field possession stat was reversed in that second half i reckon we get raped. In fact if Val didnt get that intercept who knows what happened in those next 5-10 minutes.

The scoreline last night reflected a tough battle between too defensively strong teams. Clearly the stat shown last night that we've scored more than twice the amount of points this year opposed to this time last year means we've improved in that regard. Not every game will be a try fest

The cowboys D last night was almost perfect. If not for an intercept we don't score last night. Not bad holding out a team with what's considered the best attack in the comp.

Same can be said about us too! If not for a poor effort from Holmes they don't score a try either.

A few of our go to plays were shut down quickly, as well as barba spilling it in a backline movement. Bird took a bomb but slipped after catching it then kicked it dead.

Id be worried if we dished that up against weak sides, but against a team like that you will always have a tough night at the office if they r on the ball
