Jensen is also not a winger btw. He has been a centre who plays a little bit of back row. He has rarely played wing and would have very little experience in all of those “specialist winger” things.

Newtown is where he belongs for now - but if you wanted to bring him in soon it should be at centre rather than wing.

Both Chambers and Duges underwhelming.
At some stage this year BOTH need replacing looking forward.
Ferris would be one , who else would you recommend to have a crack at the other centre spot ?

Depends if you think Ramien is guaranteed a spot. Lualua is playing centres this week, Ronnie is also an option at centre jf you want to bring in a winger.

I’m a big fan of Sam Stonestreet (winger). I’d like to see him play for the Jets a few games to see how he goes.

Ramien is interesting .
Our current halves haven't been able to unlocked him and no guarantee Trindall would too if the problem is Ramien himself .
Ronnie is pretty good on the wing, BUT I would like to see how he went at Centre ( would his defence be a concern ? )
What is Stonestreet's main attributes ?

I think we run too sideways to give our centres any kind of space to work in

Does winger stuff well. He's quick, makes good yardage, is decent under the high ball etc. (he's tall). Was a standout for SG Ball and is going well for Flegg apparently.

Iro is the other one. Plays centre mostly but looks and moves like Val. Makes good yards. Would be worth a look at centre or wing imo. Other than a really early mistake (first set of the game) he was pretty good for the Jets in the game I saw him play.

Post #172 has some photos of Stonestreet.

So do we all agree the dragons are decimated by both injury & suspensions, surely our squad is good enough to get the W this Friday night?

The only thing i think that can stop us is our attitude, it being poor, thinking we are entitled just to turn up to get the win.

If i was Hannay i would be reminding the team, the last time we did this resulted in us handing a team a win that cant win football games.

Guess a (half decent) answer about why we would play Jensen at wing in first grade over Tracey isn't coming...

There was not a poor attitude against the Bulldogs. The Sharks dominated the game for about 70 minutes. With NRL quality wingers they win that game comfortably.

The narrative of "being soft up the middle" against the Bulldog was completely false. The Dogs had one really good set of six in the game, which resulted in them getting the ball back after Tracey dropped a grubber. All of the other times they made it up field were from dumb penalties and 7-tackle sets (e.g. Hiroti no-try).

I watched Stonestreet pretty closely in the Dogs game we got smashed in. Made a few poor reads but that was also his inside men and he can be excused for that. He does look good, moves well. Reminds me of Daniel Tupou in a way, not as tall but has similar qualities. Fast, safe, makes good meters and good aerial threat. For what was his first or second game in Flegg he stood out which is always a good sign.

If we manage to win the next 2 games (which IMO we should) we got the bye after that. Sees us on 10 points and back in the mix of things.

I reckon more Brett Mullins or Luke Rooney than Tupou. Maybe a younger a Tupou though, before he beefed up.
