Please delete me if this is being debated in another thread but I notice that nobody has commented on how the **** Matai escaped suspension last night and is now eligible to line up against the sharks. I was thinking that this was the only positive thing to come out of last week but now the sharks (decimated as they are) have to line up against a near full strength manly team. Matai was facing two weeks on the sideline but now a miracle has been performed and he is free to play. Anyone who saw the incident knows that he headbutted the tigers player. When compared to Gallen (who was wrestling in a tackle after just being elbowed in the face) the only conclusion I can come to is that there is a blatantly biased or inept judiciary board. Matai was face to face with the apposing player and he leant in and made contact with the head. Far worse than Gallens and far, far, far worse than Misi and Watts who just got into a knuckle. (The very same incident in which the judiciary saw fit to find not one roosters player, ie Shackleton, guilty of any offence. The NRL can lick my ****ing balls.

I thought there was bugger all in both head butts. In fact you wouldn't even call them butts more like nudges that wouldn't have squashed a fly. bring back the good old Liverpool Kiss i say!!

As we all know, throughout the history of the NSWRL premiership Manly have always got a sweet deal from the refs and the judiciary, and this latest travesty is confirmation that nothing has changed...the chickenhawks are dead set a protected species.

Yeah I say a little head nudge is fine; and if your mates in a bit of knuckle, especially if he is on the ground you should be able to come in and give some assitance!

Wish thommo wouldve come in a chuckta a few, they wouldve felt that!! Then it might have been worth a week.

Well I would say the reason is because Cronulla/Gallen pleaded guilty where as Manly/Matai fought the charge.

Straight forward really.

Yep that includes the Roosters. Sorry, still think some of them should have copped some punishment too.

I just watched the reply of our game with the Roosters on Fox, as I missed seeing it on saturday night (Just listened on the radio) and I can not beleive that no Roosters player was charged from that game. What happened to Myles and Fitzgibons tackle on Bird where he went beyond the horizontal? I thought the referring performance of Ben Cummins was very home biased and all 50/50 calls went the way of the Roosters.
I think we didnt play that badly, but we did look flat when we were attacking the try line.

Headbutt? Your joking right? That was nothing, he walked forward till his forehead touched the Heighington's. The fact Heighington didn't even move shows there was no force in it. To say its far, far worse than Gallen's suggests you might need to pop your Sharkies cap off before judging next time.

Anyway, its good that Matai is playing. It means that Jamie Lyon will remain in 5/8 (where he is sh!t) instead of moving to centre (where he is slightly less sh!t). And a good, tough, young and ex-Cronulla half (Travis Burns) will remain on the bench for the majority of the game.

Sh!t. Like KELPIE I'd forgotten about that one. That was a lifting tackle, head slam and grapple combined. Also that other prick who ran at Bird with his elbows cocked.

I just don't think eyes open or closed matter. If Matai had kept his eyes open, but broken Heighington's nose and knocked out his front teeth, by that logic, it wouldn't have been a headbutt.

That's soccer Peach, its got a gayness all of its own. More so when its 2 European teams, and then a whole other notch when its France and Italy. I can say though, if Heighington had of put on the performance the Italian did in falling to the ground, Matai would be out.

Nev might have got off if he contested it.

But like I said earlier, Matai keeps Lyon in the halves and Burns on the bench, which is a good thing.

No joke capital. I standbye what I wrote. Matai made unecessary contact with Heighinton's head with his head. I didnt say it was the ****ing greatest head butt of all time, but it was a head butt none the less. Atleast Gallen had the excuse that he was still in a tackle and that Shackleton just panel beat his head with his forearm. My point is that we are getting ****ed over on a consistant basis. And I say this without my cronulla cap/sharkies coloured glasses on. In the bigger picture Manly should be playing with one less international tonight which would help our current crisis. Would you not agree????
