Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has made two changes to his squad for Friday night's preliminary final clash against the Cronulla Sharks.

The game will be played at the Sydney Football Stadium from 7.45pm.

Sika Manu has been elevated to the starting line-up in place of the injured Ryan Hoffman, with Scott Anderson coming into the squad on the interchange bench.

Aiden Tolman takes his place on the interchange bench in place of the suspended Jeremy Smith.

Looking at odds of $7.50, this says that the Sharks are not favoured to make the grand final, but even less favoured to win it. We are about $2.50 to beat the Storm (with Smith), so that says we are about $3 ($7.50/$2.50) to win that game, without yet knowing our opponent. This roughly translates into the bookies believing we are a 40% chance to beat the storm, and then a 33% chance to beat the other grand finalist.

Even the worst performed teams in the top 8 won more than 33% of their games against the other top 8, and the Sharks won 75% during the regular season. The bookies are giving us very long odds...as usual.

I suppose if Smith is out, we would be more like a 50% chance with the bookies, so our premiership odds should be about $6.
