I wouldn't say he wasn't interested but this is how Hynes plays

1. Can't break the defence with routine set plays, starts going into panic attack mode.
2. Starts running the ball unnecessarily.
3. Starts making silly plays, i.e. pushing passes on 1st/2nd tackle sets.
4. Silly plays end up being mistakes.
5. Goes into shell.
6. Random silly plays that lead to mistakes.
7. Back in shell.

Then somehow people on here expect either Moylan or Trindall to step up when it's pretty obvious our whole structure revolves around one guy.

That's how we get found out, we aren't the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, we are Nicho Hynes Sharks. We are a team based around one man, when he's out, we are all out. I'm not bagging Hynes, I think he's one of our best but we gamble too much on him.

I just don't get when people say that someone else needs to step up. Like how, tell Hynes to sit this one out? People don't want Trindall at halfback but then expect him to take over when Hynes is playing ****?

I’ve given up hope with Fitz that we will ever see Hynes playing second receiver at 6, running more and kicking in general play less

lol if anything Hynes problem is he usually tries TOO hard.

Tonight though, he did not look like he cared
No I don't believe he didn't care, I think he just couldn't get things working and like my earlier post when things aren't working we have no back up.

I'd said Moylan used to step in at that point. Experience allowed him to do that. I wouldn't expect Trindall to tell Nicho to park it for a bit an get your head back in the game at this point in his career.Moylan could. And did. And it helped Nicho.

I don't recall a game when Moylan would step in, not trying to bash Moylan here but all I recall is that when Hynes is lost we are lost.

Moylan's playing style was always good against the lower teams, and probably would have helped us last night. But it always fell apart against the Top 8 teams.

I don't get why when we are pinned in our half and we wait on the 5th to do a clearing kick while there are three backs waiting to catch on the full.

Why aren't we doing clearing kicks on the 4th when usually it's the opposition fullback is on his own?

But he does need to in order for our team to progress.
Nicho also needs to learn that sometimes he needs to hand the reins over on occasion

I only watched the 1st half (then went out for a planned dinner) but 2 kicks out on the full (that 2nd one, wow, NO excuse) is very poor.

Both Tricky and Nicho need to have and show the courage that lets Tricky take over the main halves duties if needed.

Thing is people say Tricky is inexperienced. Well guess what, so is Nicho.

We need more balance for sure, Nicho isn't Cleary.

I'm not sure Tricky is that player yet tbh. Again, not a dig at the young bloke with half a season of first grade under his belt, it's just that you can't train in experience

I get it, but he has plenty of very good experience in ressies which he can draw on.

There are times when an inexperienced up and comer needs to take the reins for the better of the team (especially when the main guy is running like a rusty engine).

I'm now the defend Trindall guy... okay, 2024... 🤣

Definite shades of Blayke with Trindall. Or another way to look at it is a developing player with a role to play.
