Nico has said for a while that he wants to be the main man of a team which is clearly is for ours. With that comes lots of pressure and i wonder how much pressure he puts on himself to deliver which leads to overplaying his hand.
The other day Nicho said something like “one day I guess the bad things will happen to me(negative on field form)”
A few times his words have basically translated to I’m good and expects things to kind of happen in a good way because of this.
Fitz says things like Nicho needs to rein it in abit but then Nicho will go and do it again
I might be reading into it too much but I think he needs to be humbled a little bit by the coach - He should not be given the keys especially so early in his career, he has not earnt anything except the best solo award you can get but in a team game that means 0 (not taking anything away from him, just facts)
He shouldn’t have his head in the clouds at all, I love him but he plays and talks like he wants to be the man when in reality the actual men do it regularly and in big games too and one key thing they do is make others around them look better - he’s not special and he shouldn’t be treated as such, he’s been labelled the golden boy without getting dirty and that is very unlike Cronulla Sharks, we’ve never been a one man team. Even in 16 we share the attention and we share the success
We got humbled by a roosters team without a majority of their stars on our own home ground in a knock out final - that should never happen
