Yeah the dominant playmaker and kicker almost exclusively plays on the right in the NRL - actually I can’t think of a team where it does not happen..
It makes sense to have a dominant kicker who is right footed play on the right side of the field.

Even better if you can pair them with a left footer, to play on the left side of the field.

I'm like Fitz, I don't care what number they have on their backs. As long as Tricky does the majority of the kicking and organising and Nicho has space to create. And I really think if it all goes to plan with AFB doing his stuff, we might just score some points.
Everyone should brace themselves for more crash play :)

I do agree. AFB sucks them into the middle, then we feed the backline.
Between AFB, our awesome line running second rowers and quality finishers on the wings, we should have a stack of points in us.

The great thing about how much of a threat AFB is, like you have touched on, is he creates danger points outside him too
It will mean we have to keep doing the 'pointless' crash plays some posters hate though, as he can't be the threat to crash over if never passed the ball in that position.

Obviously AFB drawing/holding slightly more attention tight is good for our backline but I wonder which one of these things is more likely to become true
- defenders held tight and slower to release means easy space near the sideline, get the ball to Tricky/Hynes and let them spread it fast
- defenders held tight and slower to release buys time for Kennedy to ball play again (time he had with Moylan Hynes but we couldn't find for him when playing more off Trindall*)

Unfortunately for Kennedy I think it might be the first one now Trindall has established himself, and longer term a run first threat fullback is where we need to move to. We will be too many cooks in the kitchen for Kennedy's play style.

*not specifically a criticism of Trindall, he just delivers attack differently to Moylan.

AFB scored most of his tries pretty wide of the ruck for Wahs

But the funny thing is, we had Trindall do those sling shot plays aswell when he had to fill in.

I don't know why we all the sudden stopped those plays when it was obvious Hynes, Moylan, Trindall and Kennedy knew it.

Trindall wants to have the ball in his hands attacking the line. He doesn’t wanna draw and pass to Kennedy to ball play.

He wants to be able to run, or kick it into some feet so it miraculously bounces to where he can score etc

We are playing into the new halves strengths rather than the previous half. (At the expense of the fullback - but it has still worked overall)

My thoughts, anyway

My thoughts too. Kennedy will have to adapt or die.

Even more reason for WK to float about it support. I'd love to see him take a step up this year

Will has the skill set to make a top 5 fullback. Safe as houses; can ball play etc.

He just needs to stay alive in the middle of the field near our forwards and chime in when in attack out wide.

Needs to put on a bit of muscle imo. Not a heap, but he's a bit small I reckon.

I think he has the skills to look like one in our team, if we played to his strengths.
We do seem to have gone away from that though.

He'd never be a top 5 in terms of like, how much another team would go after him to sign. Or his own ability to carry a team or win a game himself.

Interestingly his assists were pretty similar last season to one before, it was tries and linebreaks that he did way better. So clearly (unless we said he lost something physical) lack of space was a big factor in why he looked a lot worse.
