Wright&Fergo how do you feel about the monster contract Bears gave to peppers?

Antrel Rolle becomes the first signing for Giants! 5 years, 37 mil, 15 mil guaranteed.

Now to go for Kirk Morrison.

I'm a little iffy on the Peppers signing, as I usually like how the Bears stay away from the big name FA's on the market. Although I am happy we are only giving him 13.3M a season instead of the 15-16M he was originally commanding. Would of liked the deal much much more if it was only a 3 year deal.

Pretty happy with the Chester Taylor signing picked him up on the cheap and he will be good getting his 100-150 carries. Brandon Manumanuela (sp) the blocking TE opposite Gates for the Chargers was also a very good signing, consider Martz' new system is tailor made for the blocking TE's. I'm hoping the Bears can pull off deals with Otogwe, then a WR (Brandon Marshall is a pipedream) and finish it all off with drafting Mike Johnson (Guard out of Alabama) in the 3rd round of the draft.

How do you feel about Rolle? I would of loved him to come to the Bears but he chose the Giants. Highest paid safety in the history of the NFL huh? He'll be a great addition with Phillips and Johnson but really, the highest paid?

How about dem Cards eh? Losing Warner, Boldin, Dansby, Rolle and Gandy. Back to the cellar for them.

hey dier, can you fill me in on what the cowboys are up to?

Cowboys haven't signed anyone as far as I'm aware so far in the FA peach.

And I don't think they are really pursuing any of the better free agents out their either. They are pretty satisfied with their playing roster, just need a better DE aside from Olshansky and possibly another DB and they should be set. They will most likely pick them up in the draft.

Mate, I am pumped about Rolle, going in to the window I wanted Kirk Morrison and Antrel Rolle. KP and Roller will be a great safety pair. Highest paid safety, doesn't really bother me, he is better then Johnson and CC.

Cards are gonna need to go through rebuilding again, I have no idea why they got rid of boldin for a 3rd and a 4th.

I haven't heard anything about them in this window so far, been pretty damn quiet.

Yeah that Giants defense will be dominant if they get Kirk and possibly another LB/DT in the draft. I'm just exicted that the Bears picked up Peppers on the fact that the Cover 2 scheme works wonders when you have a great D-Line and some great coverage LB's. When you think about it the Beard defense could go back into 06 mode with a great D-Line of Peppers, Harris and Brown, the ever reliable LB core of Urlacher, Briggs and Hillenmyer and then if we sign Otogwe we will have two ball hawks in Bowman and Otogwe with Tillman there to wrap up and punch the ball out like he does ever so often.

Then all you have to do is get your O-line sorted out, Forte was useless this year, couldn't be all his fault. I didn't see a lot of Bears games through out the year but the ones I did see forte was wrapped up way to quick.

I agree, Forte looked like a 15 year old kid out there. Wasn't completley his fault either, as you stated. Our O-Line was getting man handled, some times to the point that Forte would be wrapped up just he recieved the ball. In the few games we managed to block well Forte got 100 yards+, but the thing is that only happened 3 times in the whole year.

The Bears were hoping to get Stephen Neal because we have no good interior linemen (Guard/Center) but he resigned with the Pats. Hopefully we can pick up Harvey Dahl or Clabo from the Falcons and then get lucky with our 3rd and pick up a decent guard/center. But in Martz' system we won't have to run with Forte as much, he and Taylor will be used as a receiving threat out of the backfield a lot.

Cromartie to the Jets was also a very good pickup, as he will excel across from Revis as a ball hawk.

Cromartie is going to get picked on a lot now. He had a pretty sub par year last year he might not like the extra attention.

He will get thrown to a lot, which could be a very good thing for him in that defense. Their blitz schemes are the best in the NFL, so the opposing QB will be sh*tting themseleves already and will lock onto Cromarties receiver a heap, because A) They don't want to even through near Revis and the Jets push their safties close a lot and they won't want to throw near Rhodes and Leonard or the LB's in coverage. That will cause a lot of lock on throws to Cromarties side which will most likely be rushed throws aswell due to the blitz, so he will be there waiting and ready to pounce as soon as he throws.

But, I could see him being a liability if they decide to throw a lot of deep balls on his side, because the safties usually are in close so a 1 on 1 deep would not be a good thing for Cro.

I'm surprised at the amount of NFL fans we have in this forum. It's fantastic. Equally as buzzing to me is that my Jacksonville Jaguars (yep, go on, laugh!) have signed Aaron Kampman from the GBP's. Despite the torn ACL (never a good thing) I think our defense has needed a bump in the right direction for a couple of seasons now. Eagerly awaiting to see what we do with the #10. pick @ the Draft!

This draft should be an interesting one for us giant fans. With the signing of Dansby to Miami you would think they would be out of the running for a MLB like McClain. But with Marshall visiting Seahawks and the Seahawks thinking about a trade that would give denver 2 first round picks ahead of the giants and they need to boost their defence. I just want McClain!

I think that whoever nabs McClain will be getting the #2 player in the whole draft behind Suh. Would be fairly amazing behind that D-Line and in front of the amazing secondary in NYG.

Kampman was a golden singing for the Jags Coco. Now they won't have to reach for those raw DE's that would of been avaliable at the #10 pick. I just hope they don't waste the tenth overall pick on Tim Tebow.

That would be rough. We've already had a slow-winding QB in recent history (Leftwich) and it didn't end too pretty. Let's hope we don't get sucked in by the fact that he's a Florida native.

I still think he will be available in the second. You would have to be stupid to reach in the 10 spot for him.

But with that said I think he has enough natural football instincts to do just fine in the NFL.

Not real happy we lost Kampo. 2 seasons ago he was one of the best defensive players of the year. But after he switched to linebacker he was definitely less effective. Would've helped though if he had more games at that spot. Was unfortunate that he done his knee in. Hope it doesn't bother him down in the Jack.

Otherwise nothing else has happened in Green Bay so far.

They have re-signed Wilfork, they are also currently trying to re-sign Leigh Bodden, he is testing the free agency, Steelers and Houston are interested. I haven't heard much else.

Patriots also were interested in signing Peppers/Kampman/Dansby but all aluded them and signed on with other teams. I also believe that Tebow will be avaliable in the 2nd, but I can see other teams intimidating the Jags into thinkin that he is going to go 1st round and therefore Jags grab him with the 10th.

What about Brandon Marshall eh? Close to signing an offer sheet with the Bengals, if the Broncos don't match that offense in Cincy would be leathal. Palmer at QB, Benson RB, Ocho & B-Marsh at WR and a young monster O-Line to go with their 2 blocking purpose TE's. Could be a smokie for next year as they were rated #8 in defense last year and were looking to nab a safety in the early rounds of the draft.
