Pertaining to my previous thread about game day, I have been pestering the club with some operational stuff recently. I have long been a fan of rebranding the club to distance ourselves from the recent trials and tribulations with a fresh new look.
As a result I have developed in conjunction with some designers a new logo. I would like your honest feedback as supporters of the club. I do not like the existing logo. It is too achingly "modern" and lacks any cut through. The colours of the current logo do not match our jersey and the font and robotic shark design, along with the shrunken shield just don't work. As a result we developed the below.
I think that a circular logo is the way to go with the Sharks. The black background and blue, aggressive looking Shark is a throwback to our most popular and recognisable logo of the 80's and early 90's and seamlessly integrates with the club colours. The shape of the Shark and the clean font is a nod to the 1973 logo which was worn in our first grand final appearance. The logo is clean and simple with classic lines. It is immediately recognisable and identifiable. It showcases a modern, innovative club that is able to embrace it's history while looking toward a bright future. This logo will not age and will forever remain stylish.
Please advise your honest appraisal.
