Pertaining to my previous thread about game day, I have been pestering the club with some operational stuff recently. I have long been a fan of rebranding the club to distance ourselves from the recent trials and tribulations with a fresh new look.

As a result I have developed in conjunction with some designers a new logo. I would like your honest feedback as supporters of the club. I do not like the existing logo. It is too achingly "modern" and lacks any cut through. The colours of the current logo do not match our jersey and the font and robotic shark design, along with the shrunken shield just don't work. As a result we developed the below.

I think that a circular logo is the way to go with the Sharks. The black background and blue, aggressive looking Shark is a throwback to our most popular and recognisable logo of the 80's and early 90's and seamlessly integrates with the club colours. The shape of the Shark and the clean font is a nod to the 1973 logo which was worn in our first grand final appearance. The logo is clean and simple with classic lines. It is immediately recognisable and identifiable. It showcases a modern, innovative club that is able to embrace it's history while looking toward a bright future. This logo will not age and will forever remain stylish.

Current Logo is a good logo in my opinion.

One that your designers have created is just a circle with a clipart Shark in the middle & a twist on the old school circle logo.

But, always good to see some creativeness out there for the club, the Sharks & all that.

I quite like it. I only see one problem , while it would look great on apparel I am not quite sure it would work on infrastructure placement- for example on the front of the leagues club?
I would add that you make some rather large claims about it being timeless etc!

Might be a good sticker or something but on an actual jersey i much rather the one we have now.

And fishermanaxe is completely right, that would look really weird on the front of the leagues club.

I dont mind the grey in your design, but the sharks body need to be larger and the tail smaller.

Thanks for your feedback. The Leagues club thing is a rather unusual criticism considering they don't have any logo on there currently.

Sorry don't like it.
Just looks angry , not scary OR appealing

Well maybe not on the actual building but on the electronic billboard/ sign out the front and on the stadium. At any rate with a refresh of the leagues club on the agenda as part of the development I wouldn't mind betting you'll find the sharks logo on there.
Anyway the more I look at the proposed logo the less I like about it. Can't say I love the existing one - but it's back to the drawing board for you old boy!
