I think a lot of young players get over-hyped early. Nanai imo is a much better player than now than 2 years ago, but the hype has died down because the Cowboys missed the finals and he isn’t scoring tries from bombs every week.

Pretty common for a young player to come in and perform really well for a while and then have a bit of a dip. The grind and all - plus once opposition teams have a month worth of video to study it makes things tougher.

Nanai very similar to Nikora in this way imo. I think both have come out the other side of this.

I'd still like to see him get through some more work, especially inside their own half but your right that hype has died down somewhat.
