Hi All

Based on our crap Monday night record, the fact it costs crowds and hence dollars I think its time the club went to the NRL with a please explain.
Below are the stats on teams that get Monday nights and we are clearly disadvantaged on this.
How many kids miss out on seeing the gam because its a school night......
how many people cant get there because of work....
It's clearly just not right and we get the worst of it were others such as Titans had 0, none, nil Monday night games.

Monday Night Games
Sharks 7
Roosters 4
Eels 4
Panthers 4
Tigers 4
Rabbits 3
Manly 3
Raiders 3
Cowboys 3
Knights 3
Dragons 3
Bulldogs 2
Warriors 2
Storm 2
Broncos 1
Titans 0

Only two of the seven were home games. I do hate Monday night footy though. It's here to stay for at least another five years unfortunately. Hopefully with a fixed schedule it's a bit fairer next season.

I don't mind it because it gives us something to watch instead of the usual rubbish, but it should be done more fairly.

I don't like Monday night games because we have a crap record with them at the moment.
But taking the Sharks out of the equation. I would probably watch this timeslot more regularly than Saturday or Sunday games. Regardless of who's playing.

Monday games are the only games I see live these days as I'm always working when the weekend games are on.

also the fact that it stuffs you around as far as backing up after 5 days rather than teams like Broncos get 7 day rest consistantly because they play every Friday nearly.............

It's annoying not having a Sharks game on the weekend but it does provide something to look forward to after work and an excuse to have a few beers. We shouldn't complain too much about Monday night footy this year. We beat Manly and narrowly lost to Eels, Roosters & Storm of which was completely our fault clocking off.

You can understand the benefit from a telecasting perspective when you consider there isn't alot else to watch on a Monday night and the pubs probably like the fact it brings in a few extra punters early in the week.

Honestly, i think we had a pretty fair draw this year, only playing Tigers Bulldogs and Manly once and all, so we cop a few mondays instead?

Our draw lended itself to a better finish that we had.

Games we shoulda won

Storm
Eels
Roosters
Panthers

We choked in all of them.

Games we got really unlucky in

Tigers
Panthers (same game, but partly poor reffing, but no excuse for buthering leads with 1 minute to go)

Interesting, y tend to agree, our finish due to ourselves not really the scheduling.

If you have a problem with us playing Monday nights go yell at FoxSports for liking us.

Going from memory, It works like this;

Channel 9 picks a game first (Friday)
FoxSports picks a game second (Monday)
Channel 9 picks a game third (Sunday)
FoxSports picks a game forth (Sunday)
Channel 9 picks a game fifth (Friday 2)
FoxSports gets the rest (Super Saturday)

That's why there is usually a **** game on Friday.

If the same happens next year, seeing we will have the draw in advance, we should be able to turn it into a positive and have a ticketing package for all Monday Night games. Like what we dowith the last 5 home games.

One into Sydney and one into Brisbane, that's how they like it. But you're right J.B, Fox get 3rd pick, they must like us!

I dont know how the players handled having to play so many MNF games!
I hate MNF when it was anywhere but Toyota if Sharks were playing - funny part about it was like another previous poster, I love an extended weekend of watching on Foxtel, some other poor sod's team play, after getting home from work on a mundane Monday!
