jennings has a clause in his contract that at the end of next season, he can test the market, before taking on an extra year option from the panthers. this is the guy we must chase with everything we have. he could be the superstar to take us to the next level. forget buying anymore players now, chase jennings.

Yep. I agree, he's still young hasn't even reached his prime yet. He's the outside back we've been craving since ET retired.

If he continues to develop at the rate which is expected, we will not be able to afford him and nor will any other NRL club. Jennings to Europe or Japan!!

Apart from his footy skills he has the one attribute we have craved for ages and one that all opposition teams/coaches fear.....speed. He is lightning and would be a sensation in the Shire. And to think he can only get better! C'mon Sticky throw everything at him.

Jennings is a great player but he is no Hayne at the moment. If you consider that Hayne is about to sign an extension for 400k a season and Watmough is about to do the same then 500k for Jennings is too much. I would have no problems paying 400k for Jennings. You gotta factor in the loyalty factor and whether Penrith would be stupid enough to let him go.

They are westies so nothing would surprise me, but 400k a season for Jennings is a GO!! throw it at him and see how loyal he is

Agreed. Particularly if our young guys perform.

It is a year away anyway. No point speculating now. This year has shown how much could potentially change in the space of 12 months...

500K is what it will cost to get him to move to a club like Cronulla that is coming off the bottom of the ladder, we would need to beet UK Super League, French Rugby, Japanese Rugby etc, that is why it would cost us that much.....

Whatever he will cost it will be too much. Everyone will want him. Only go after him if most teams have salary cap issues, which they wont.

Did you just say watmough is re signing for 400 k a yr? He can be an extremly damaging player, but that is a f*ckload of money for a back rower?

400K for Jennings is a steal. GI and Jennings will be the best centres in the league for the next 4-6 years easy.

If we sign Jennings we finally have the thing that we are lacking and that is a true try scorer. I believe we have a prospect in one Blake Ferguson but Jennings is much much more developed and a better player.

My dream 1-5 in 2011.

1. Orcher
2. Gardener
3. Wright
4. Jennings
5. Ferguson

Its not like Penrith wouldnt have the funds to resign him, probably more than what we can, by the time it is to resign him, petero would be gone or on reduced salary, and they would be more than willing and able to fork out 400 +

Personaly i would find it hard to spend 400-500k on any centre (greg inglis maybe). you need great players in ur centres, but ussually that sum of money goes on a true star in a key position. Ie. Halfback, five eight and fullback. Players who have access to the ball anywhere on the field to make, create and add that x-factor all over the field. Offcourse there are absolte stars in other positions that could earn that money. But i just think you could find a great centre with great speed and handling for 150-300k and spend on a great fullback or other positions. id rather a speedy solid centre or fullback and Frank Pritchard.

but then again i would love jennings in the team. just would hope we can keep a solid team around him.
