Id rather carry a hooker on the bench capable of playing lock (coaches words) halves and centre.

Yep, much less. As others have said I wouldn't be extending him at this stage. I'm not saying we shouldn't but there's no rush.
When you think about it he's played the last 5 or so years with ordinary halves. Is he capable of taking a step back? If he can't then Maloney may as well play for another club.

Has been well below last years form.
Although i thought he was very unlucky to cop that penalty for the flop after their 20 restart. Haven't seen a flop penalty in yonks and he gets done. Could penalise every 3rd tackle these days.

Much better today but still think he needs to get quicker service. Does the fake left/right scoot thing a bit too often and ****s with the momentum of the forward running onto the ball. Also once or twice when we needed a decent kick for field position on 5th he held it a bit too long whilst he thought then gave chad no space to kick. If he picks it up on 5th he really needs to either kick himself or send it straight to the halves.

Yeah the little fake is getting a bit much of a run. I think the delay it puts on the pass being thrown counters any slight confusion it might put on the defense. Especially when doing the hard yards out of our end, its fooling no one.
