merch.

It would be nice to give money away, however, superleague is over. Nrl suck at merchandiding and no-one has had any idea where to go with merch since. I am born and bred in Perth with my son born a queenslander (2 and half years old and a huge sharkies fan). I lived in Sydney for 2 years and qld for 8 years. I have a dislike for afl but I do like their marketing. Each game with no jersey sponsor is a wasted opportunity and insult to the team (of believers). How about a raffle that will give a member like my little guy an opportunity to be a front Jersey or a sleeve sponsor for 6 weeks. No sponsor.... Give it back to your members and raise new money for the club. Am a marketing student, I am open to conversation to make this vision work if required!!

I have no idea why the NRL don't have names on the back of jerseys. even to the extent that players should have their own numbers. There is a reason that every internationally successful league does this. It brings in a huge amount of revenue, especially when new signings occur.

Few examples include;
EPL
NFL
MLB
NBA
even AFL to an extent

The NRL is so behind the times.... Poor stadiums, poor coverage, poor match day experience, extreme under funding and marketing that is beyond pathetic.
Such a great product, such a bunch of idiots.

All those Leagues are much much bigger than the NRL, so it is no surpirse that they have better stadiums.

I'd like to see the names on the jerseys, but I love the fact that the players have numbers that represent the position they are playing. I hate how everyone had a random number in Super League. It's a Rugby League tradition to have numbers that correspond with positions. We don't have to go changing things just because other leagues do things differently.

If a player is any good, he will usually hold the same number all the time anyway.

Names on jerseys is a great idea. But NRL teams require that much sponsorship that they need to plaster their jerseys in logos for money. What used to be a sponsor on the front, is not 4-5 sponsors across a jersey. Its pretty ridiculous. Youd think other ways of netting sponsors would have been posible but anyway.

I think the players need to be given set numbers per season. ie our 1-17 of preferred first grade team, in position. and the others just round out the rest of the numbers.

I think supporters jerseys should differ from playing jerseys, without the sponsors (again, sponsors are holding teams to ransom these days) our CSFC logo on the hoops jersey, coupled with a number and player name would be pretty good.

Not to say players dont play in sponsor covered jerseys. But i think a support jersey should be available graffiti free

I know i loved our winger wearing his number 4 proudly on sunday :p

I get what you mean. But if the NRL wants to make it big, and bring in supporters, they have to make it fan friendly. Think of the number 23. Michael Jordan. The number 23 became a brand of its own

Not to mention that the numbering system is superfluous now anyway. Never seen so many single digit numbers in scrums as I do now.

Do they auction the City Country jerseys at all?

Not in the fashion of when they auction special sets off after games I don't think. For some players it would be their first and possibly only rep jerseys. Don't think they would make them auction them off.
