you would also have players racking up stats for the sake of it

Jayden Brailey had the most fantasy points a few weeks ago against the Raiders simply because he passed the ball more times than anyone else on the field.

Matty Johns said on his podcast a couple of months ago that he used to play with someone who was getting $$ for every time he touched the ball in the lead up to a try ... so he started calling runarounds because that counted as two touches.

It's ridiculous.

Moylan / 900k for 11 games. 81k per game

Wade / 750k for 9 games. 83k per game we paid him

PER GAME

BRB going to cry in the corner

Star players on big contracts having injury hit seasons isn’t anything new. It happens. Bad luck. Just got to put it behind us, rehab him as best as possible and hopefully he’ll be ready to unleash in 2020.

Still talented and understands the culture. Moylan doesnt

Does he? He bitched and moaned about position and took the support* we gave him as a kid with some potential for granted by instantly jumping ship for a bigger pay check, admittedly one I agree is too good to refuse.
Actually that does sound like he understands the culture of the team currently...

Still he did show toughness and was a very good player for us. We aren't in a position where it would make any sense to bring him back unless we wanted to really mess around with positions (Bird, Xerri and Ramien all shouldn't be anywhere but centre).

*ie paying for his medication as a team medical expense once we signed him

I'm guessing if you're suggesting to swap him for Townsend and Moylan, that you want to end up with:

1 - Dugan
6 - Bird
7 - SJ

That just looks like the definition of rocks and diamonds to me.

Not sure I'd swap either, just because I wouldn't want Bird playing in a spine position and we're stacked with centres already.

I wouldn't mind Bird as a fullback. Maybe. If he could get his body right.

I wouldn't be moving people to make it happen though.

It'd be more like, take him on as a centre and try him at fullback if the position became available. But since we're already stacked for centres and he's got question marks over his fitness, it's a no thanks.

I see absolutely no room in our backline for Jack Bird. I really don’t think we need him. 14 maybe, but not on the money he’s on right now obviously.

Well, I will make a prediction that they try and move Moylan on before next season. Not sure if Dugan is the answer at FB and reckon bird would be great at it.

Chad was great until Flanno signed with the Rorters, then lost the plot. Didnt seem to gel with SJ

How much would you pay for Bird?
