Is it even worth upgrading Iro (or any dev player) at this point? He can play in a few weeks anyway. Might be better off just upgrading a Jets/Flegg player to minimum.

Maybe one of Uele, Healey, O’Kane, Fearnley, Riolo, Rodwell?
Is there any reason why you couldn't upgrade Iro and move one of the others to a dev deal for the same result?

We've got open dev spots any way I'm pretty sure.

Also keeping Iro on a dev deal gives him more incentive to improve his defense hopefully, atleast that's how I would of played it if I was Fitz.

No reason why they couldn't do it that way. Same for any dev player.

Just depends on the Sharks' preference and what they want to achieve with their cap. By upgrading one of Iro/Puru now they might be able to move a little bit 2024 money forward and save a bit next year... but if they would prefer to keep a slush fund for this year, they would be better off upgrading one of the dev players who are only contracted for this year, or dangling carrot as incentive to sign for multiple years (player like Healey or Finau gets top 30 for remainder of this year, and also signs for 2024 as dev).

Lots of ways they could cut it. Saying "Iro is the closest to NRL so he gets upgraded" is not only line of thought the team will have.

Played a decent game (ended early through injury) in what was a pretty dire GF. Fair to say that neither team would threaten for a Top 8 spot in the NRL.

Edit: typos
