Major Sponsor 2012?

I would say that that space where the Apparel sponsor would usually go would always have been available. It would have just been the case that the Apparel sponsor pays big $$$$$ so would want to have a prominant position for there brand.

Yeah but maybe the Sharks want to charge significantly more and there's negotiations going on as well as alternative plans etc.

I'm more interested in our others sponsors and whether they're staying on, particularly Poker Stars.

Poker stars was also only a 2 year deal as well. A new sponsor will be on the sleeves.

Those old deals were at the bottom end of the market because of what happened in 09. The new deals will be much better for the Sharks hip pocket.

I dare say they were on a cheap deal and the club thinks we are more marketable now for the major sponsor

i was speaking to DI about this a few months back, and said exactly that, hisense were on a cheap deal, now the sharks think it is worth more.....but that was at the start of the yr...

Not as a seperate property which could be sold to another company. I understand this has only been allowed by the NRL starting season 2012. This is why the apparel sponsor is now on the shoulders.

I think that it all comes down to winning games. Even if we run out without a sponsor in Round 1, a few wins and they will all change.

I personally hate it when we we've played without a sponsor in the past. Looks like we are wearing one of those replica jerseys from Best and Less.

Anyone looked at the Hisense website lately? Still stating they are a "Proud sponsors of the Cronulla Sharks"...unfortunately though, still with a picture of Trent Barrett, Blake Furguson (and John Morris). Looks like they have been really keeping up with the changes down at the Shire... :gal:

Was speaking with someone today who says that Hisense wanted to still be our major sponsor but wanted to pay less, so he has told me that they could still me our sponsor but the may end up across the back of our shoulders instead of across our chest
