I reckon Tampa Bay Rays are in a great position to take out the world series this year. After 84 games, they are on top of their division, ahead of Boston by 3 games, and ahead of New York Yankees by 8 games.
The only problem with the Rays this year is they are lacking in power hitters, however unemployed Barry Bonds is currently searching for team to play for.

My beloved New York Mets arent going too well this season, running 4.5 games behind the Phillies in their division, however, watching them play St Louis today and smashing them shows that they may have the potential for a late run for the play offs.

Does anyone else here follow baseball?

Don't follow it real closely these days, but how are the Minnesota Twins doing?

yeh not bad, the old twin cities are running second in their division, 2 games back from chicago white sox. and at the end of the month they have a 4 game series againt white sox which could be a turning point in their season:D

Good to hear Parko. Geez those guys play a lot of games, the workload is pretty phenomenal and I can't think of another professional sport where they are so flat out. How they even find the time to train in between all the playing and travelling I have no idea.

i somehow think they dont train, i know they do loads of pre season training, but they play up to 7 games a week, so i dont really think that training is possible

oakland a's last week signed a 16 year old dominican kid to a MINOR league contract with a sign on bonus of $4.25 MILLION!

apparently this kid is a pitcher who stands 6 foot 7 tall and only 210 pounds heavy

watching red sox vs yankees this morning..my god, you havent seen a coach argue with an umpire till you see a baseball fight..yankees manager ran out of the dugout to the main umpire and they were going off like a cherry bomb in a toilet..yanks coach looked like he was going to have a heart attack, veins in his neck popping out..
