Any chance he plays prop next year? He really fits the weird Sharks prop mould like Taga and Prior. Already runs the right way.

I reckon he does more damage on the edges but he could probably fill in at prop in a pinch without too much drama and maybe cause some headaches around the ruck for the opposition. I wouldn't be playing him at prop yet though if it there are other options, should see how his body fills out in the coming seasons

Get him to put a little bit more muscle and he will be damaging.
Top player, really stepped up yesterday and it was a big ask for him to play those minutes on his 3rd or 4th game and at a opposition ground in the semi-finals.

Flanno mentioned in the post game presser it's going to be tough to leave him out in a fortnights time. He's gotta be on the bench for mine. If Flanno still wants to shift Bird to Lock for a period of the game or if he Drags Townsend again , I think there is little doubt Capewell could play in Bird's Centre position. He also talks a lot about getting fresh legs on the field - Capewell is the epitome of what you want from fresh legs! Immediate impact in both attack and Defence- you just don't get that from Beale

He's got the physicality that Beale doesn't. I don't know though, he's relatively inexperienced at this level so it would be a big call for a big game.

He's only billed in at 93 kg . He looks and plays like he is a fair bit heavier.

What a top effort he was given a chance and grabbed it with both hands he was never overawed the game he played was i'll prove now you have to pick me , was one of our best young strong supper fit and all the right attitude[/B I really think he more that made up for the lose of Wade . He can play centre or back row.

Sometimes good things come from adversity......Why did we not see this attitude commitment and talent before and give him a shot before now?

I wouldn't be shocked if we released Beale next season and made Capewell our bench option - but I don't think Flanno will carry him as a centre option into such an important game.

thats where I'd have to disagree. Form and momentum is well and truely on his side. If need be he could slot into centre. If we have no injuries he can come on in the middle and provide a bit of spark in the forwards. You can really see the Ipswich in him. He wants too offload and play off the cuff and I think that really worked for us against the raiders.

You may be right though, maybe it's just too late to start doing these sort of things, but I don't think he would let anyone down if he were too play centre.

Have you forgotten the Penrith game? Capewell was very good in that game as well. Hard to bag Flanno for not bringing him in full time with all the experience we have in our second row. Biding his time in NSW cup while getting some occasional first grade call ups not only keeps him from feeling too much pressure but also keeps him keen

I've been saying this same thing for a while now ... I just don't think Flanno will drop Beale for him. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I think we need to gamble and give him some experience at the elite level even if it is in a Finals game. Penrith has the youngest team in the Finals, and have an Eighteen year old playing in the key position in the halves. Allan Langer was called straight from Ipswich into the Qld Origin team years ago and never looked back. I mean what is he going to do wrong? Have a bad game? All players have bad games. The experienced Chad Townsend had a shocker on the weekend.

That's a poor example - it was pre-Broncos when a large portion of the Qld team were playing in the QRL.

I would personally let the player decide, but I think they will keep him out.

Go and watch that NSW Cup highlight video of him playing centre and back row mate. His skills would be wasted at prop. IMO he will be a permanent fixture in the 17 next season and will take over Luke Lewis's starting spot in 2018 (if not before).

I would be giving him Beales spot on the bench next year. Pretty basic swap.

If we got Vaughan or Sims and T-Rex.

A bench of something like

Vaughan/Sims
Kapewell
Bukuya
T-Rex/Paolo/JSL (or bench hooker if needed) would be perfect.

We would have reasonable depth with that.

I no its early days but if capewell continues his form into the next game and starts next off the same way I would be playing him in 11 and have Lewis on the bench.
