Sharks Add Depth To Playing Ranks
20/10/2010 3:01:10 PM

<EDITED>

Along with Williams, the Sharks have signed current Papua New Guinean fullback Ryan Tongia from the Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos prop Andrew Clayton who was named in the NYC Team of the Year, and Kose Lelei from the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

<EDITED>

Lelei, who can play in the centres, on the wing, or at five-eighth, will also hope to place pressure on the Sharks backline for a starting spot after featuring in the Bulldogs NSW Cup premiership victory earlier this month.

You will find that Kose was a Raider junior and they sacked him around the same time they sacked Goodwin for alcohol related incidents. He has potential if he is disiplined.

Went to school with Kose, it is true he went to the raiders. Im pretty sure he played in the under 18's state of origin and looked good, but then got into some alcohol related trouble in canberra

thats a shame. i tried to find information on Lelei but there was hardly any on him. he played NSW cup ocassionally and mainly for bankstown bulls last season

he was one of their best in the grand final win. I talked him up during the game and said to my fellow viewers how he should come to the Sharkies, we need speed and he has it.

he used to own when he played for the raiders. apparently his form was mostly responsible for canberras jersey flegg premiership a couple of years ago. he is a brilliant footballer with potential if he can crack the fg side. i have doubt that he will though

My guess is that they're taking a cheap punt on him and seeing what they get. Without having seen him play, I'm envisaging a supersub impact hooker who can cover 9/6/3/4/2/5.

I'm looking forward to getting a sighter of him next year.

He maybe the answer to our 5/8 problem.
Graham at half and lelei at 5/8.

We don't have a 5/8th problem, we have a halfback problem.

We have 10/8ths in Graham and Kelly, as well as this Lelei and Tyrone Peachey.

Has anyone seen much of Kose Lelei??? Any possibility of him being a chance as a centre and pushin best to the wing?

I remember reading up on this kid and apparently everyone had big wraps on him, however off field incidents with his previous clubs have denied him first grade. A former coach of his once said that he is very dangerous running with the ball in the centres???
