He was really good but on Stone’s 2nd try, he should have passed the ball to Atkinson. That probably cost us a conversion.
Was in front of him, couldn't

I thought same as Mako. Just watched it back, Atko looks behind Iro for most of the play but might end up slightly in front after Iro slows down to sidestep the 2nd defender he beats so if Iro were to pass to Atko he perhaps had to do it after beating the 1st defender.

Watching it live I was screaming for Iro to pass the ball inside and when I saw a front on replay I got the impression Iro didn't look inside at all.

But from the normal camera angle I think he does see Atko after the initial line break - maybe Iro was worried about fullback Kini coming up and across to try cover the play off.

Atko might have scored but passing to Stonestreet meant the fullback had no chance of making a defensive play or tackle. Stonestreet has planted the ball down by the time Kini comes into frame.

Iro is coming along nicely, he has focused on the basics all season in FG so with the confidence of having the fundementals down and squared away we are starting to see a bit more from him attacking wise while his already solid defense continues to improve.

He is going to be a player that really punishes tired or lazy defenders both on the edges and in the middle. Has a nice balance of strength and footwork.

In the post match Fitz said something to the tune of he’s very much an NRL player he just had a few things he needed to work on, and has

Talakai/Iro/Ronnie needs to be our left edge moving forward. Talakai draws in so many defenders it gives Iro the space he needs.

Wilton offers nothing for players around him. Decent player yes but Talakai has to be our 12 moving forward.

Wilton would be damaging in the middle against tired forwards.

Cause he’s a one dimensional player. In attack he’s a plonk on the edge, doesn’t have the X factor or creativity our team needs. Him in the middle just makes more sense. Give him a more basic role and he’ll excel.
Turn him into a workhorse lock like Alec Mcdonald at Storm

In the way we're currently playing on that edge, yes. Wilton isn't a **** player though like some are saying.
Thank god 😂 he’s a decent player yes. Nothing special though at this stage of his career. And right now our side needs a point of difference in the 12 jersey. Wilton can play off the bench and pick up 20-25 minutes covering Mciness/talakai if he needs a break.

That’s not what you said though.

How does Teig’s game suit the middle?

Wrong thread though. This is Iro.

He's a line runner
He can run hard in the middle, he can also put more mustard in defense there where its needed. Sifa is better on the edge, strong runner, draws in defenders, good hands with passing or offload and he can run those lines better. He's in his prime and we're underutilizing him.
