We should definitely get Poasa Faamausili if we can. Fifita may never play a good season again with those knees, so we need options in the middle.

Also, isn’t Brett Morris seriously injury prone these days? It would be pretty funny if they lost him again early in the season and then they’re back where they started.

This is the outcome I was hoping for. Getting the deal done before round one, but with Josh playing a couple of games.

Josh is no doubt popular in the team, and will want to go out looking like he never shirked his responsibility to the sharks. And a lot of the boys will want to farewell him with some wins. For the players, all the politics and deals are behind them, and now it’s all personal.

This bodes very well IMO for our performances in the first two rounds.

Yep.. we got bent over and I hope management learn from the embarrassment this all caused. Put us in a sht situation to have us lose arguably our best and most reliable backline player to an enemy.

If Kennedy kills it at fb and Dugan is happy at playing wing we will be sweet.

$40k + Faamausili is a great deal if the Roosters are paying for him this season. If not, the cap savings from this are maybe $100k (probably less).

If we get a player and 40k and dont have to pay for him, i can live with that

I doubt they'd be paying for him. We only need the cap saving to pay for one player on an entry level contract. We were probably only like 60 or 70k over if we didn't release Morris.
But given what has happened recently we had no way out but to be legit.

From what I've read Faamausili is not included, rather the Roosters have "given him permission to negotiate" with us.

So now we're just waiting for him to choose to leave the NRL's strongest/best-funded team to come to us on a base-level deal...

Basically saying we can afford to lose you so if you're confident you are better than Scott Sorensen (and Royce Hunt) then sign with the Sharks as you'll be in their first choice 17, so it is a better opportunity for you.

Although it sounds like from the articles it went from him being offered and him not interested to them trying to convince him just to loan to us so I doubt he wants to come here.

Morris takes their squad count to 30 so they might be interested in shaking someone off now while there is (possibly) interest, so they can hold that 30th spot to fill a need if another problem arises. Most clubs will typically hold the 30th spot through opening months to identify where they need a player.

**** we are dumb if sign off on Morris and THEN ask them for one of their players.

I'm not convinced we are that fussed about the guy.

They were trying to push him but we wanted A) Morris to play some games for us and B) cash money

Roosters spent so long trying to convince this guy coming to us was a good move (because if he refuses then it can't go ahead) that I guess now they are saying 'oh well we tried to convince you to go so if you still want to we will let you.'
Also, as I mentioned before, gives them back that flexible open roster spot.

**** I wish we had the cap space to throw a massive stupid overs offer at Brett Morris and see how much he still really wants to play with his brother haha

....then pull out at the 11th hour (after getting josh to agree to come back for $100k to save face) :)

This is what fantasy football league should actually be like

We should get Dugan to change his surname to Morris and send him over instead. The brothers have had such a painfully long stint of not playing together that Brett won't even know... he'll just be happy to have his kin back in the team

Or send John Morris to play centre, Captain and coach!

I’m not bothered by him leaving, as he was only going to be here one more season and we have some good talent in his position. However, it really pissed me off how this played out in the media. It just shows you how much power and control the Roosters really do have.

So Roosters managed to get us to release Flano early, Morris and wont be long before they sign Xerri to a future deal, which turns to immediate release......

They own us

There must be some jokes happening at our expense over there.

If one of our front rowers go down hopefully JMO knows where to play him. It's a team sport and you need to fill in wherever you're required.
