What are your thoughts on the signing mate? Is being a jr Kangaroo a good indication of future stardom?

I wonder if this could this effect Bird's speculated demands to play full back....

Hard to say.

Ive seen him in the 20's numerous times live and he looks sharp. Very smart player for his age. I'm just not sure wether he will be dynamic enough against grown men at the centre position. He is quick, but not express or elusive. He is strong, but against kids his age.

The right development may see Drew become a quality 1st grade centre, but for mine if he is to have a future at the NRL level, it will be on the wing.

More than happy for him to prove me wrong though.

Drew's only NRL game was on the wing and I reckon if he gets any gametime next season that's where it'll be IMO. Anybody know what side he plays on?

In your head, rent free
i asked on twitter, right side. started with the donkies this year as right winger, then went into right centre

apparently he is as strong as an ox, so it makes sense to sign a bash and barge centre

few clips of him on YT and he has some toe on him

Yeah I've seen him a couple of times but never really watched him closely. Good pedigree with a Junior Kangas game and making the NYC TOTY. Looks to be physically developed and has been training with the Broncos firsts for a while so probably not far off NRL.

Seems like the sort of guy who could push our starting centres and might just make the big jump.

Bit concerning that the Broncos have let him go at the point where they have to replace Hodges but we've been the beneficiaries of Clubs getting that sort of call wrong in the past.

Young Drew left because he felt he would struggle to see 1st Grade time if he stayed at the Broncos , was to be put in QCup or Foggs with Feeder club possibly Ipswich , this is a career move . He will get more exposure especisally at a club that needs centres who can score tries .

And a ........... how did he go

Played on the wing and didnt get much opportunity. He didnt look overwhelmed by the occasion, which is a positive. Looked to get his hands on the ball coming out of their own end, which is vital if you're playing wing.

I do remember him dropping a bomb though.

He tried to catch a bomb? Hmm, not sure how he's going to fit into the team...
