if Parra had a bag of money and we had a choice of keeping Jack Williams or Jessie Colquhoun would would you prefer ?

See ya Jack

I like Jack but I'd much rather us have a crack at Jesse, he's not only a little younger, he is much more versatile in our forward pack aswell. Hopefully this may give us a bit of space, money to keep Trindall, Atko & Nikora/Mulitalo now aswell.

Depends on the price.

I think Colquhuon can be a little bit overhyped in here, when compared to Williams.

He kept his place in the team at the end of 2023 with good performances, but wasn't a gamebreaker. He was strong for Newtown in his 6 games this year, and his one NRL game this year he looked good before the ACL, but got to remember that is was just 7 minutes against the Wests Tigers.

This is not to bag him at all, I just don't like seeing players raised to pedestals, and then brought down.

Williams is a hardened NRL forward, JC is just starting out.

JC needs to get some footy under his belt I agree , but he’s got a huge ceiling.

I think we are going to miss this blokes grunt - well timed hits, penetrating runs in behind the ruck, quick play the balls due to his strength in not allowing tacklers to turtle him etc.

Brailey will need a replacement bench player to compliment AFB’s go forward.

Thank you Mr Williams - it s been a pleasure.

Agreed. I think this will be Rudolf/Talakai's role now. We'll miss Jack, but we're easily at a net positive with AFB incoming.

Yeah, quick ptbs is what we need, and Jack was good at that. Sifa is good at finding his front, I'm confident he can keep that working for us

Best of luck to him at Parra. Hopefully they paid him overs to leave.

Parra just re-signed Hopgood so looks like Ryles wants to go with a small pack.

You can give some size up with Paulo around.
Sub Greig for him you’ve got a huge unit on at all times

I reckon we got outbid on this one. I can’t see Fitz being happy to lose him. JC is not at Jacks level yet, and won’t be for some time IMO.

Yeah I agree with this. Just didn’t have the cash in the end, I have no doubt we made the best offer we could within the cap. Parra just had significantly more.

I agree about Colqhoun. I’ve been very impressed, but he needs to sort out his injuries first, thats two seasons now interrupted by serious injuries. Its a shame because when he does play, he shows that with a bit more seasoning, he will belong in first grade.

Fair comments.

JC certainly has a lot to prove, but I know Fitz rates him very highly. Jack leaving certainly gives JC a pathway into the side, provided he can stay fit. But we should ease our expectations on him early days
