Inspirational as well. Hearing her talk about how her family coped when her Dad was murdered is impressive.
She’s very impressive, a real asset to the club. Hope we keep her for life. Didn’t know about her dad, makes it even more incredible the way she is.

Fiji heavy favourites with the talent in team but PNG have a decent halfback in Lam.

Could be interesting this game

PNG defending very well so far. Fiji need to start spreading the ball to their edges. That’s there strength.

Katoa is still learning his craft at halfback, but Tonga really needs to find a 6 and a 9. They have the forwards and some strike power in the backs to give the top 3 teams major headaches.
Australia wasn't exactly clinical. Mostly of their own doing, but Tonga was very good in defence too.

Not convinced by the fact International games are played under NRL rules though. I suppose it's the price to pay for a (maybe some day really) thriving international scene.

I thought Tonga were pretty good. They were unlucky to not be ahead at half time. They were winning the forward battle but then are a bit directionless in attack. In a few years when Hoppa, Soni and Katoa develop they should be pretty decent. 2-3 years worth of first grade for them and AFB and JT should still be in the side and you would think they could give it a real shake.

Tonga's defense worked hard and was really desperate at times holding players up over the tryline ect, kept them in the game.

5-10 years ago Tonga are losing that game 40-0. The pacifica teams have come so far from where they were and are alot more professional. No longer a cake walk for Aus in these kinda games.

Crowd was pretty good up there, nice to see.

Why an Australian ref though? Shouldn't it be a neutral or it's because it's NRL rules?

I don't think that rule has been in place since those French refs back in the early 90s!

Gee they were terrible.

That Aussie Defence, WOW, if Tonga cant crack it, cant see many teams getting to say 12/14 pts.
The aussies did defend well. I think If Tonga kicked better and played to their strengths with second phase play a bit better they could have cracked it though.

Katoa's kicking killed them didn't it. Two kick offs out on the full and like five 7 tackle sets I think it was.
You won't get every kick perfect but that is far too many times repeating the same mistakes.

Did get dropped by Dolphins towards back end of the year too.

Still, a great prospect in the position.

Yeah exactly. If he got some of those things right, I think the Tongans run over the top of Australia and win. The aussies, were finding it hard to handle the Tongan forwards in the first half. You control the ball better and kick well and it is a completely different outcome.
