With the Poker boom still in full force how many people would be willing to come and play in a tournament where a certain % of the buy in will go to the club and the rest into the prize pool at the end?

I would be more than happy to run the tournament for free and if it ends up people want 100% to the club im sure we will be able to get a trophy and see if the club can put up maybe an autographed jersey or something as a prize?

maybe $100 buy in

1st prize gets a signed jersey and dinner at the bistro
2nd signed football and dinner
3rd dinner
4th - 8th free tickets to the next game

just something to help the club, if 100 people play thats an extra $10000 for the club, i know its not much but anything helps at the moment.

I've still got to talk to the club and this is just a general interest inquiry to see what kind of numbers they could pull for it.

If it was held the same weekend as a Game I will come and blow cash for sure.

But wouldn't you have to have license for that?

I think its a wicked idea.

I wonder if it could be held at the Leagues club, on say, a friday night before a Saturday game? I'm not in to poker myself, but there are so many people around that love poker.

I think that there are a number of similar types of tournaments around Sydney. So, it shouldn't be too hard to get whatever permit you need..

It's great that so many people are chipping in with ideas and are willing to lend their time. I'm feeling that the wheels are in motion now....

Good Idea Gibs
There is a Texas hold em Club tour that goes around to clubs I know that it has been held at Taren Point Bowling Club my brother is a professional player and follows it around he is rated in the top 500 in the world but yes there is big money to be made there people need something new in clubs Pokies are stale, the club need games that require a bit of skill and that give you better odds
