Our halves without Kelly have nothing.

If we are forced to move John Morris to halfback somethings wrong. He's one of our strengths at hooker, yet we moved him to half in a desperate bid to create something.

I feel sorry for wade graham, he's got talent, he tries hard, but he's regularly out of position, and doesnt ignite the team. He needs coaching.

It's proof we need a halves coach and desperately. The fact Sandow will be paid 400-500k shows there are no decent halves available, we have talent on Graham, Kelly and townsend, but they are young, need to be developed and need specialist coaching.

Trent Barrett was going to do, but apparently pulled out because of a pay dispute. We need someone to help, joey? Matt johns? Even noddy

Yep. I would like to see the money we raise be used on that sort of thing. 3rd party payments to one player won't help as much as something like a halves coach would.

Good post, fully agree we have a few young halves that need help!

I find it funny that last week almost everyone was lauding Porter, now it looks like it's back to calling for his head. Personally I think the entire team, with the exception of Douglas (and maybe Cordoba), was woeful.

I hope not born & bred, but the coach was obviously trying out something by taking porter off and moving Morris to half during the second half.

I do agree that we need a halves coach though, especially if Flanno intends on keeping Graham at 5/8. He just doesn't look comfortable there at the moment.

Porter played well last week not this week. He got pulled because he has no points in him. Townsend should play next week is my pick.

Sorta agree - but I'd rather Chad with Kelly.

May not have a choice atm though.

New to this site and thought it was finally time to join. But I think our future is with Gallen stepping into the 2nd row even though he plays like a front rower. Which moves Graham to lock and we look like we are after Beau Henry from the knights. With him and Kelly I think it could be a good start to build on. If de gois comes back I think we need to look at morris/flanagan off the bench. Our halves need alot of work and I think with kelly and henry its a good young start. Just an idea.

We NEED to sign Beau Henry!! Porter is not 1st grade material. When you have to pull your 1/2 off you are not going to win the game!

Yes we need a 1/2's coach!!

At least when Graham plays half and Morris plays hooker we have 2 extra forwards on the ground both tackle awesome, also wraps to Kelly before injury was doing well. Porter can tackle but on fringe with help but still ok. Yes we do need a halves coach!! HELP

Matt Head is part of the NSW Cup coaching staff- I'm not sure, maybe he is doing some specific work with the halves as well. He had all the skills, just bad knees.

I'm hoping to see Chad in first grade sooner rather than later, but I'm not sure about bringing him in before AK is back.

I'm not settled on a young halves pairing between say AK, Chad, Beau and wade (or anyone else for that matter). I'd like to see a more experienced half / 5/8 in there supporting the apprentice. Unfortunately Smith and ports aren't up to it week in, week out.

But yeah, take your point Shire'76. There's none out there

What's Tommy Bishop doin' these days

Once again the opposition halfback looks like a champion when they play the Sharks. I thought Robson was on the nose but he played like a rep last night. Even thought Scott Porter is as slow as a wet week he's still better than Tim Smith so the solution is - find some new talent and develop them. As our halves combination is so poor we don't have anything like an effective attacking backline so big centres like Pommeroy & Best ruck it up from dummy-half. Not the mention our wingers are too slow and should possibly be in the centres instead. Man this is frustrating...
