Also...

Did SKD not score a match winning intercept against the Tigers in a semi final that went to golden point?

I would assume this would fall out of the criteria being a 'final' rather than a premiership round game.

Can someone with a better memory than mine please confirm if his 'research' is bull****.

I vaguely recall a game in which Vagana scored a match sealing try for us in golden point?

Am I mistaken?

No. You're not mistaken mate. There has been plenty of golden point games decided by tries. Not just the Vagana one but we had another one by Vince Mellars a few years back. I cannot believe there has been only 21 games go to golden point. There has to be a heap more than that. Are you sure it isn't an old article?

And considering the article mentions the Knights game on the weekend, pretty sure it isn't an old article.

Unless of course his 'research' is about 5 years old.

Golden point is rubbish - if equal scores after 80 mins, extend normal game time by ten minutes (5 mins per side). That way if you score a penalty goal or a try the field goal becomes redundant.

If no result after 90 mins of hard fought football call it a draw and give both sides a point. I think the fans can accept that and It works fine in every other sport...

Even calling a draw after 80 mins is not the end of the world.

21 is probably just a typo.

There has been 71 GP games.

13 have been won by a try

Sharks have played in 13 GP games for a W/D/L record of 6/1/6.

Not to mention we won with a field goal, set up by a repeat set. We got that repeat set (although a ref's error IMO) through Carney cut out pass to his centre, who ran down the wing, then kicked into the in goals. Attacking football helped set up the field position. The 1 that went over, came from preparing for that kick, not just prayers thrown up on the last tackle

I'm not that clear on the rule but might not of been an error. Is the ball deemed to be in the field of play by simply crossing the plane of the goal line or does it have to touch the ground? No way did it touch the ground if that is the rule.

I think it was Jono Wright that kicked it

It did touch the ground i thought. On the line. When returning the ball, the line is in the field of play. I thought he got it on the line. I could be wrong but. Either way, if its a wrong call it sucks, but at the same time, we never get the wrong call our way so ill take it
