Exactly, good post and what Ive been saying. Flanagan has the perfect opportunity here to re-vamp this side and turn it into a multi-faceted attacking unit.

Graham at lock, Gallen in the second row, Kelly/Robson & Carney in the halves, DeGois/Robson/Peachey as hookers
Toops, Faffita, Tagatese coming off the bench

Wont happen though will it?

I think come round 1 we will see something like that

I'm happy to wait & see how our team looks a few weeks into the season. It will need fine tuning for a few weeks to get the optimum use of all the guy's skills.

I think he is giving Wade 1st crack at 5/8 out of respect for his efforts last year (& maybe he was promised that position when he signed with us). I don't think he'll be there come mid-season.

It'll all sort itself out over time. I think that is a good thing as it means we keep improving.

I would rather have the right team from the start, so we couldn't improve much more but I agree it should be different by mid season.

I want to see Graham sign a 3+ year extension before the season starts.

People have been saying this, I don't get it. Why would Gould be after him? Penrith have arguably the best ballplaying lock in the comp, he's their captain and he plays on the left- like Graham. Graham was tried at 5/8th outside Walsh and it wasn't really a success. They have two young guys in Sjeika and Austin who play in the halves (and backrow in Austin's case), plus Walsh whom they seem keen to keep. What they need are some good linerunning edge backrowers.

I'd be more worried that Gould tries to nab Frizell.

Gould has said fairly recently that he sees Graham as a future NSW 5/8 and made it clear that losing him from the club was the biggest mistake made in recent history.

I'd put it as the second biggest mistake, a long way behind the employment of the total ass wipe that is Philip Gould himself.

Also I think what Gould would be trying to do at Penrith, would similar to Tinkler at Newy. Bring all the home grown talent home. One day potentially have a team mostly of Penrith juniors. A bit like 03.

Surely Graham is the sort of home grown guy they would love to have around the place.

In your head, rent free
like ab pointed out though, if they bring wade back to the halves, they will lose a half

if they bring him to lock and push lewis to the second row... they have no sting and will lose a player

I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm saying I think it will happen.

I agree with the Tinkler reference. I think it will be personal for Gould. I think he won't be able to handle someone like Graham going to the Sharks of all teams.

as much of a cock as i think Gould is, i think his input will only help the Panthers in the long run.

is graham really a player we would be looking to hold onto? i was always under the impression that he was just a temporary replacement until found a long term half.

mind you last year wasnt really anything to base off, i am interested however in how he goes with carney

Future captain. He is a must in my books. With his new friendship with Todd on top off hopefully starting the season strong will help him stay. He may find it hard to turn penrith down
