For those in Melbourne wondering where to watch NRL on Fox (Live)

Having a girlfriend living down in AFL land Melbourne meant I had to find a way to watch my Sharks while down there on some weekends. It's very tough down there to find anywhere showing live NRL games.

This led me to find a website of passionate NRL followers based in Victoria.

Each week they post up the venues (usually pubs) where NRL games are being shown Live (usually) on Fox.

Their organisation strikes a deal with the pubs to put the game on the TV effectively in exchange for some of the sites memebers rocking up to watch it and drink at that venue.

This site is a lifesaver if your passing through Melbourne and don't have Fox in your hotel or a live stream on your PC. Ofcourse you still have to get yourself to that venue but well worth it and that's part of the fun.

You can become a site member and get the weeks games emailed to you but this is not mandatory, you can just check the website yourself for the game/venue listings.

I watched the Warriors vs. Sharks in a pub in North Melbourne. Had to remind the bartender to switch the game on but no dramas and there was only a few people there wathcing it lol.

Useful info thanks Gards was down there the other weekend and no where would put the footy on for me. Got kicked out of one pub cause the afl was on and i walked over to the tv and changed it myself.

Frequented that pub plenty. Watched the league there a few times as well - volume on mute though, never let the sound on even on request. Welcome to afl country.

Ya must not be tippin the right bar girls! I been watchin the sharks there the last few weeks an haven't had any dramas with the volume, they usually throw it on in the room with the two pool tables! Not a bad pub for the sports!

Hopefully somewhere will be showing the Ch9 games also.

Just off the top of my head sharkyman, if you're near the cbd you should be able to catch the games at the Welcome Stranger Hotel, 128 Bourke St. It's Poker Machine central though.

You can always see games at Tankerville, cnr Nicholson & Johnston Streets Fitzroy. (a Pokie Palace too but has reasonable pub grub and good quality tap beer compared to most Melbourne places)

The Birmingham Hotel, cnr Smith & Johnston Streets Fitzroy is a good pub these days and they will put it on one of their TVs for you unless the place is already packed with people wanting to watch an out of town AFL game.

Also there's usually several other League Fans in there inc the resident Dragons Supporter who's actually a pretty good bloke.

I used to have it sweet when I lived in Melbourne 10 years ago.

I worked nightshift at the casino, so if I was working near the Sports bar about 3am in the morning I could watch whole games on replay. Aside from that I could watch them on replay when I got home in the wee hours.

Further to Addy's post above, the sports bar in Crown Casino has heaps of TV's showing Live AFL, Rugby, NRL ect

Being a Sharks support and being in a Casino at the same time is probs a bit risky for your wallet though lol

Have never experienced that in the front "sports" bar part, think that may be historic and apply to the beer barn back part?!
