wow I was just having a look at the table and i can see that we have the least points scored against us... which is some achievement Considering we haven’t started the year on a high note. I only wish we had the most points scored for as well.

well at least we know how good our defence is compared to last year, i feel as if now we have a defence that is good enough to win the comp, but our attack is quite lazy

We won't win the comp but our attack will improve and our defence will remain strong.

Yeh its because our defence has improved a real lot but our attack is really suffering. Also we haven't really come up against some of the real competition heavyweights like the storm and cowboys.

manly have the least amount of points against them,we are 2nd tho,but really it dont mean ****,every game is different u just have to score more points than the opposition no matter how many they score against u.

didn't we have the least points scored against us until half way through last season as well?? I remember then that everyone was talking about how good our defence was then and look what happened after. I just don't see the point anymore of being happy about such things until 75% of the way through the season.

well we where still pretty good at the end of the season as well with for and agenst. i mean we lost a **** load of our games within 6 points

Last year we lost 10 games by less then 10 points, so big league says.

But we were one the lowest teams in scoring points, we need a attacking weapon to be a serious contender, and Woody is right half way through last year, we had one the best defenses in the league, but again unless we are outscoring our opponents it means jack.

i heard that atleast 82.75% of all stats used on internet forums are made up.
hehe
stats like this don't mean jack until later in the year and only really matter when for/against may decide finals positions.
if we can win more often than we lose i am happy (till finals time)

Alright then, can anyone see an attacking player on the horizon or do we need to go purchase one?

Personally I think both Brackin Henry and Raftery have potential, then there is Brown who with a bit of experience could also be a danger man. Outside of those three I can't recall any who I belive have an attacking flair. Also that said, I don't believe they or any of our other juniors would be put in the "superstar" category which everyone is looking for because those players show that kind of tallent early.

id rather win 10 games 50- 36, than lose 10 games 10- 8. Its not much of a comeback to the Manly supporting wife " well our defence is good too, so just keep leading the comp then, see if i care". I get my own back though, i kick the **** out of her manly teddy bear when shes not around. But any way, defence dont mean anything if we cant score points.

for and against is secondary to the amount of competition points we have. after the raiders game we were second on for and against but we were not second in the competition. it is definitely ogod to have a good for and against but winning more games is a priority and the for and against will follow.

Tate is one. Soliola is under contract for 2008 (if that means anything anymore). Could be Ben Goberts, sorry I mean Roberts

yeah, but not roberts. i don't rate him at all. i don't really rate soliola either though. could handle tate 5 years ago, but i think this guys injuries in the past are just a timebomb, waiting to hit him again, and i would hate to give him a fair contract only to lose him to injury. wouldn't mind if he was trying to get matty king back in the shire. that would be good.

Agreed there, King would be great.

I personally would not sign Tate either, injuries are a serious issue.
