We were pretty unlucky to not get the Sunday 9 slot in round 1 I reckon. Given they decided the Thursday game ages ago the Eels/Broncos game was always going to get the Friday slot, and I guess the Warriors/Manly game is a tradition or whatever.

Sunday at Leichardt with Benji vs Carney would have surely factored in.

Oh well, I'm glad I wont have to listen to Gus commentating our first game of the season.

What's more alarming with the Stats there is that we have had 1 Finals Appearance in 5 years. Ouch!

Ouch is right, but considering we've lost the most games in 5 years, it's hardly surprising.
Remember the last 3 seasons have been dead average (with improvement this year, admittedly), and in 2007, more often than not we were down 2 odd points at the final hooter.

1st 5 rounds, 13 teams get a Ch9 game with Sharks, Titans & Raiders missing out. Bronx get 5 games, Castle 4 & 4 other teams 3 games.

As above agree to an extent that Sharks will have to earn their Ch9 games, yet certainly not getting any favours despite there being some good match-ups (IMO).

Spewing about the Monday night home game against Manly. While there were the well documented crowd problems when these teams met at Toyota in 2011, it would have been a great crowd if on a Sat or Sun. I would expect that the crowd will be down 8k – 10k given the Monday night slot.

We’ll be there yet hope it is our 1 & only Monday night home game for 2012.

I expect Fox will angling to have Sharks/Dragons Round 6 on Monday night again, with the 2011 highlights reel copping a solid workout. Sharks definitely need to string a couple of good games/wins together early to ensure that Ch9 pick this game up.

The problem is that with the way games are selected, the Monday night game is Fox's premier game, so if you get that game you were Fox' first choice basically.

It means that with the Sharks/Manly, we just missed out on FTA.

From a fan and crowd point of view it's probably the worst game of the round but from a TV point of view it's the fourth best.

I personally enjoy the pre and post game coverage and all of that.

My only concern with the Manly game getting the Monday slot is the lower crowd/leagues takings. But hopefully we win a couple of games first up and pull a good crowd regardless and the compensation payment from the NRL makes it a good weekend for the Club nonetheless!

This is spot on.

As an NRL fan I love watching the footy on tele on a Monday night.

As a Sharks fan, though, it sucks balls going to Shark Park on a Monday night.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed about the Monday night game against Manly (and I bet, St George) purely based on the fact that I will have to travel from Taree after work, watch the game and then get home at 1.30am so I can get to work the next day.

I could try and get the following day off, I suppose but given I am the only footy supporter (female) in a workplace containing all other blokes, I think I may be stretching it a bit...we'll see I guess. Either way I'll be there but I may not be the most energetic person the following day.

Doesn't work that way mate. They will release the next few rounds a couple of weeks before kickoff to ensure they stay 8 to 10 weeks ahead.

IMO, 10 weeks is good notice of when a game is on, otherwise we will get no FTA games with a set season schedule.

Last season per say they only gave 5 weeks notice of times and dates of games...

Yea 9 has horrible coverage of games, but from a club P.O.V. it is much better to have free to air games.
