So i decided to not bother staying up and watching the QPR v Man City game. Turns out I did the right thing. I would of thrown **** all over the house if I had watched those two goals in injury time.

Went to bed when Zabaleta scored. I thought the game would of been done and dusted after that. I went to bed knowing ManU had ****ed up their chance of getting #20. If i had of stayed up and saw the score line 2-1 heading into the final minutes I would of been doing victory laps of my house in my Ryan Giggs jersey. Turns out 4 minutes is a long time in football. ****.

Reds icon Kenny Dalglish sacked by Liverpool after lacklustre EPL season
AP May 17, 2012 7:03AM

LIVERPOOL legend Kenny Dalglish has been sacked as manager of the club in a dramatic move by the owners following a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Dalglish lasted less than 500 days in charge, as the club owners decided to terminate his contract despite having ended the team's six-year trophy drought with the League Cup triumph in February.

"Results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the progress that has already been made, we need to make a change," Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said after the team finish in eighth place in the Premier League.

That decision was taken after Dalglish flew to Boston this week to meet the Boston Red Sox ownership group, which also controls Liverpool, for an end-of-season review.

Liverpool's League Cup triumph in February secured Liverpool's return to European play through the Europa League.

Liverpool FC want AVB or Roberto Martinez as next manager - report

Liverpool will reportedly move for Andre Villas-Boas if they are unable to appoint Wigan boss Roberto Martinez as their next manager following the sacking of Kenny Dalglish.

Dalglish was sacked by Liverpool on Wednesday afternoon following several days of speculation about his future after a disappointing Premier League campaign.

After the Scot had returned to Merseyside following talks with principal owner John W Henry and Tom Werner in the United States at the start of the week, Fenway Sports Group said: "After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the Club came to the decision that a change was appropriate. It is not a decision that was reached lightly or hastily.

"The search for a new Manager will begin immediately."

And according to Goal.com, that search will begin with Martinez.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan on Wednesday evening insisted that Liverpool had not yet made an approach for the Spaniard.

But according to Wednesday night's report Martinez, who has also been linked with the Aston Villa job, has already decided to leave Wigan this summer, and an approach from Anfield is expected in the coming days.

The report also suggests Liverpool could move for former Chelsea manager Villas-Boas should they be unable to lure Martinez to Anfield.

Villas-Boas, who was sacked by the Blues in March, has been linked with Inter Milan and Roma in recent weeks, but was on Liverpool's radar before Dalglish was appointed as manager following the sacking of now-England manager Roy Hodgson.

Whelan had on Wednesday evening told Sky Sports: "At this moment in time, there has been no approach from Liverpool or any other club for Roberto Martinez."

Despite Whelan's comments, at time of writing Martinez is the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Dalglish, ahead of former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, Villas-Boas, and Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers.
