I would just like to say this:

West Brom 5 Portsmouth 1 New manager bounce seems to have worked - under the Mowbray regime goal scoring and as often as possible is the nature of the game. Their goal came in the last seconds of the game and it was from Aussie player Thomas Waddingham.

BUT

I will concede that Portsmouth are a relegation team with not the best players despite the recent influx of Aussie players. Also, they rested 5 of their better players for a midweek clash with Millwall that they obviously felt more confident in winning.

So I will reserve judgement until our game next Saturday against bottom placed Plymouth.

Waddingham scoring on debut for Portsmouth is a massive positive. Australia are crying out for a reliable goal scoring 9 and he’s probably the most promising.

Looks like Luton Town might be one of those relegated Premier League clubs which will continue to freefall due to the financial difficulties of relegation. On their return to the Championship they sit second last.

Thank **** we avoided the Europa League playoffs, the last thing we needed was two more games. No more Europa League until March now.

United finished 3rd, Spurs 4th. Both in with a huge chance of winning it seeing as the Champions League teams dont drop down into it anymore. Lazio, Athletic Bilbao and maybe Frankfurt and Lyon are the only other teams in with a shot winning it imo.

Looking at the draw, Spurs and United will be on the same side of the KO tree, so they wouldn’t be able to play each other in the final, which is a shame.

Spurs are good against teams with Manchester in their name

But being Spurs watch them bottle it against United when something is on the line

2-1 over the pikeys

Even if we go on to finish 17th, the minimum objective of 2024-25 has been met

How did everyone's teams fare on transfer deadline day?

Man United did **** all. Patrick Dorgu was signed a few days ago. A LWB that is sorely needed as we dont actually have one. The good news is the loan exits of Rashord and Antony, saving a heap of money on wages to two players who quite frankly weren’t being used. Although it has left us a bit short in the front three. Its a shame they couldn’t move Casemiro on this window.

Lisandro Martinez’s serious injury just before the end of the window was devastating as we no longer have a left footed CB and now can’t bring one in, although they did sign an 18 year old LCB from Arsenal this window, don’t think he’s ready to go straight into the team however. I suspect we’ll see a back three of Maguire, De Ligt and either Maszroui or Yoro moving forward.

What I was hoping we’d do:
• Move on Rashford (tick, albiet temporary, loan to Aston Villa with a £40m buy option and Villa are covering 75% of his giant contract, couldn’t of hoped for better).
• Move on Casemiro (Cross, there was interest from Saudi and AS Roma but nothing materialised, is the largest wage on the books but is not part of first team plans, really needed him gone)
• Move on Antony (Tick, albiet temporary, loan covering half of wages at Real Betis, this move is all about him hopefully finding some form over there and Man United can get a decent transfer fee off the back of that in the off season)
• Bring in a new CDM replacing Casemiro (Cross, although Collyer’s elevation to the first team has soften the blow a bit. Douglas Luiz was available at Juventus and I was hoping they’d figure out a loan move for him but with Casemiro staying, it couldn’t happen).
• Sign a LWB (Big tick. Dorgu from Lecce for £25m is a very good pickup, finally a LWB that completely suits Amorim’s style of play, hopefully he can make the step up to the Premier League level).
• Sign a forward (Cross, with Rashford and Antony leaving I feel we are a bit light up top, Tel from Bayern Munich was the heaviest linked but he’s joined Ange at Spurs. I think now its likely we’ll see Lacey and Obi-Martin elevated to the senior squad to provide options).

Gunners beating Manchester City 5-1! Stay humble now Haaland hahaha!
I’ve gotta say it seems over the top the way Arsenal reacted to that jibe from Haaland and the way some of the players reacted after the win and during the game kind of proved his point. Arsenal still haven’t won anything (they might yet this season but they haven’t yet), whereas city have won a lot

He started the season well and fell off again around December.
He looked decent at Inter but PL is a different beast. Don’t know what it is about him but he makes the goals look so big.

I know Amorim is off to a rough start but I really believe he is the guy that can turn Utd around if given adequate time

Yeah im 100% on the Amorim train, hell the guy is dismantling player power one toxic piece at a time. Rashford being the biggest pin the fall. No other manager has managed that yet.
