But he was waiving it after the tap wasn’t he? Why wasn’t he waiving play on before the tap, Instead of responding to the sharks players?

Why would he wave play on before Wighton had taken the tap? He keeps his arms out for a penalty until a decision us made to kick or tap.
A quick tap they then waive play on.

Roger that. The quick tap is just another rule in league that is too grey. I rarely see a ref allow it, and never understand why they do or don’t. Add it to the knocked back rule, which is also rarely given, and the “one on one” strip and they add nothing to the game but confusion.

Shows what our senior players think of our goal line defense if this is the extents they will go to slow/stop play - no confidence to just force a mistake or make hard tackles like we actually did pretty well most of the game, sometimes the old Cronulla just pops it's head through and we are back at square one. a younger forward doesn't pull that **** cause he knows he will have bomber breathing down his neck and that his position isn't a sure thing anymore. needed better from fifs and wade there but the rest of the defense line were slack for clocking off as well

anyways I said before the game that I wanted to see something different from this side and they really did show me that, especially in the first half it really was great to watch us back up in the face of good opposition and dominating proceedings, smashing them into their in goal for repeat sets. just why could we not muster this sort of commitment and desire a few more times during the year is a shame cause we just showed we still have it in us. we couldn't maintain our composure in the second half when the tide turned and reverted back to some bomber ball unfortunately, still I am proud of the effort overall and we kept hitting hard and having a crack until the final whistle

going down by 12 to the raiders in canberra is far from being embarrassed even if some of the try's we conceded were a bit soft in the end we did make them work for it. improve on that finals performance next season and we are much closer to advancing through to week 2

Unless we can find a way to keep an opposition with less than 30% of the ball for an entire game we really do need to sort that defense though and get some proper system in place to fall back on. you can't play at finals like intensity all season long but bringing a good attitude every week will go a long way
