How can you blame dykes for that, yea maybe he should of passed but it should of never of came to that in the first place. Dykes played alright i thought, my mate always said lance thompson is a awsome player but he will break your heart, meaning stuffing up at the worst time, he proved right tonight.

i'm not quite speechless, so here goes. tonight's loss shouldn't shock, but somehow it does. that our scrum can get pushed off the ball under any circumastances would be embarassing, but tonight's effort reveals an absence of mind and TICKER that can not be ignored. i think with ross and stapleton in next year we will have a decent pack of forwards (and williams will be in there somewhere - his game has improved a lot this year). but what good does that do us if we are not driven to win every game regardless of its context? i was interested to hear warren ryan say the sharks had been instrumental in the introduction of the six tackle rule, but rue the fact we just do not have the wherewithal to play EIGHTY MINUTES. buggered if i know. i rest my case.

Lance Thompson has lost the passion, Villasanti never had the passion and Kimmorley is a 'hospital pass' specialist. There's no ticker in this team. Opposition teams know the sharks will buckle if they apply the blowtorch. what a joke.

I must admit, noddy is fried, i dont know if it was the team or the coach but he is really not that good anymore, i think the best thing for his career is to go to another club cos nothing is happening for him at the sharks.

i have seen kimmorley throw very few long balls since SOO 05, and can remember at least 2 that led to intercept tries. he is now too predictable, almost always opting for the short pass with an odd run at the line thrown in. i can almost always tell where the ball is headed and can only presume the opposition knows also. he is a very competent rugby league player but should never have come to the sharks when we had preston carving it up week in, week out. i was on here a while back praising peachey's commitment to the club and someone agreed but said he was too undisciplined. that person made a fair point but kimmorley is by far the worse in this department. the captain is allowed to communicate with the ref, but kimmorley gets very short shrift because he argues almost every point. i've gone totally off topic but am so frustrated i can't help it. i think i need more beer...

These Sharks have embarrassed all of us! Im sorry but you just dont lose after leading by 20 points! Leadership is what was needed last night and it certainly didn't come from Kimmorley. With 18mins to go a mate SMS me to say we were back in the winners circle... the Sharks were up 28-8. My response - the fat lady hasn't sung yet.... the rest is history. A couple of bright spots - Pomeroy has been strong since Raper finally gave him a start - Albert was good.

williams isnt the problem
he has a real go, and yeah i forgot he is only 20 or so
its just a shame he isnt a little bigger but thats not his fault
the managment need to recruit a couple of bigger backrowers to work in tadem with the small and more hard working williams and thompson

Alberts
Kearney
Kimmorley

Villasanti/Douglas

Williams
Dykes
Douglas/Villasanti
maybe Bott

Not a bad pack but this will be it. I think they fall short in the backline.

Boy, I'll try and keep this short.

Kearny really does give the ol' 110%, the team really lifts when he's on. Other than that, we have Gallen, Williams, Bird, and Covelle - Always willing to give it a go.

Albert, You play like you did there mate and you're alright by me. He really does need to be in a position where he can help.

I have no Idea how many times I scream at Dykes per game for being a hogg. At least when he was half he got enough ball and learnt he could pass the ball. He either needs 6 or it's time to go!

Kimorley does try hard however as stated he is predictable and gives away stupid penalties simply because he always thinks he's right.

Some of the new players (people given a go end of season) seem to have promise and hope they continue to have a run next year - Brown and Pom's.

Purchases? Bott, wasted we honestly have no place for him he doesn't have much of a game appart from his speed and is too small. Jury's still out over Hannay I know for the purposes of depth we needed another centre however he hasn't been playing well and we have a couple of young guys who would be looking to make that position their own. If having him slows their development down I'm not so sure he's a good thing. Is there any other purchases worth mentioning.... I can't think of any?

Sorry to bring back an old thread. I finally manage to watch the game last night.

I won't comment too much on the defeat, I mean, I was so pissed, the outcome was so incredible that for the past 15 minutes I felt that we were going to lose and all I could do was laugh... I suppose I can't cry for a crappy team. That or I'm getting used to the taste of defeat.

From what I saw, the only time we had some go forward was with Kearney playing at dummy half. Now, I don't say Kingston isn't doing his job, simply that offensively Kearney is a more potent threat.
Dykes or Kimmorley didn't strike me as poor but they didn't have any impact on the game really.
To me it's another proof that we need to split their partnership. Drop one of them for the final two weeks and see what combination works best with Kearney. Not that he's the savior of the club, but at least he does something on the football field... and it might lead us to a win.
So, Raper having faith in your players is one commendable thing. Failing to do something when the ship is sinking is like a professional foul. Who can survive that ?

Things need to change. Sadly, the coach shoud probably go at the end of the season. Sure, he's not the one playing poorly on the field, but he's the one making the team.
Sadly (again), next years signnings don't strike me as particularly impressive.
Should we already start betting on a wooden spoon for next season ???

Long post, I hope someone had the courage to read it.
