no heart, you watch him chase beau from earlier this year
correct. Right in the cornerWinning try at that according to wiki?
Mundine did play Origin (whole 1999 series) he's just a whinging prick. He didn't get it his way so he wasn't happy.Yup plus Merrit won't have the space he is often afforded by his South's team in the Club level competition.
Anyone watch the Souths game against Brissy few weekends ago? Merrit did nothing. Souths still won though...
Mundine should be thankful as this provided him with the motivation to become a professional boxer and the upstanding public speaker that he is.
P.S. David Peachey was selected for Origin. Maybe Mundine had an incompatible attitude...
Played one in 2000 and would have played more if it wasn't for bad luck with the timing of injuries.Nope. He played 3 games for NSW in the Super League series. Never played real origin
This was the single greatest moment of my life to this date. Just a shame he never scored the winning try in a grand final for the mighty Sharks.Winning try at that according to wiki?
Who also did a really good job. They also picked a 50 year old brasher as well
I swear there was a stage there Ross was getting picked over Lockyer for Australia. I may be wrong but I'm sure it was him.Ross was a decent solid player, but he was nothing like Peachey.
didnt say he didntWho also did a really good job.

My memory of it was he came in for Peachey when he was injured and got best of the series. From there he kept his spot in the next series.didnt say he didnt
But peachey was on fire at the time and deserved to be picked
Just checked incorrect and correct. My memory of it was he came in for Peachey when he was injured and got best of the series. From there he kept his spot in the next series.
If I remember that correctly I'd say it was pretty fair to keep him.
Yeah, probably right. He was a good player and all, but he didn't have the flair of a Peachey or a Lockyer. I remember he was a bit of an auto pick for the rep selectors at one stage.
The Barrett of his day I guess. Not overly exciting but a solid selection that wont let you down catastrophically.

Basher came in game two 2000 with the Peach out with an injury. Memory it was a fishing accident to do with his finger or something stupid. Basher got man of the match game two Peachey was available game three but Brasher got the nod.
2001 was when he was really ripped off IMO when we went with Mark Hughes.
Pretty much how I remember him in Origin good solid player who didn't do much wrong and did a few real good things.Yeah, probably right. He was a good player and all, but he didn't have the flair of a Peachey or a Lockyer. I remember he was a bit of an auto pick for the rep selectors at one stage.

Agreed again but I think he was the player the Peach most deserved to be there over.Hughes had some good games also though.
