Do you like sitting near the opposition fans?

I think it was 2013 and the missus and I went to watch Raider vs Sharks at Bruce Stadium. We both had horrendous colds that week so I got seats in the Mal Meninga stand so we were out of the elements.

The seats we were allocated where dead set in the middle of The Greenhouse. And I mean middle.

To our right was the bloke that ran the Greenhouse website. He was a twat. He spent the whole game updating the game on his ipad. Talk about one sided reporting. They way he called the game our players may have been Nazi Stormtroopers.

To our left we had an old couple. They were lovely. Offering us sandwiches, tea and the missus tissues. They even offered us Fergo for Carney. Great people.

An even sweeter one, My cousin and I wound up sitting in with Dragons fans when Storm beat them with the penalty try in the GF. It was a beautiful thing.

Well for the Australia v South Korea pool game at Suncorp earlier in the year I sat right near the Korean fans.

I loved it, they were awesome, it was great to hear them sing.

It's probably not the same as sitting near the Drag Queens or any other NRL fan base, but I wanted to mention this anyway.

I go to watch the game, not belittle other people for having the same passion as me.

That sort of stuff ruins the experience for me.

I watched the Roosters game a couple weeks ago with a Roosters mate from school. We sat side by side on the edge of the 'away' bay, next to the Chook Pen. The chest beating from both sides was embarrassing.

We cheered the game.

I don't see why anyone would bother berating someone for following their team, often from a time when the decision wasn't even conscious. It's not like they're on the field having a direct impact!

I'll sit anywhere.

I do tell my kids, cheer your own team don't waste your breath screaming at the opposition or the refs.. But when I'm flying solo at home watching the Sharks I'm usally screaming and frothing at the mouth like I have rabies.

I have no issue with opposition fans sitting near me but, as I am in the Cage, it is for Sharks fans only.

What I won't cop though, in any location, is fans who deliberately sit next to the opposition only when the game is all but won for them, so they can start trolling.

Anyone who comes into The Cage wearing opposition colours in this situation will be asked if they have a valid ticket as it is reserved seating. if they don't, I give them a send-off.

haha lane way full of mirrors so they can all have a good look at themselves as they leave. In shame. Meanwhile 2010 is bitching about the gates
only the real fans know how bad it was, you know the real fans who go to the games and aren't scared of a little bit of rain like others...
