Kemp's been released from the Warriors... anyone rate him? I remember he was pretty good for the Broncos last year but I've hardly seen him at all this season.

Broncos door still open to Kemp

August 24, 2009 - 4:30PM

Brisbane say they are open to the idea of welcoming Denan Kemp back to the Broncos after the Warriors released the flying winger today.

Kemp was allowed to forgo the final year of his two-year deal with the Warriors in 2010 after struggling to break into the NRL squad this season.

The 22-year-old arrived in Auckland earlier this year as a point-scoring sensation, having crossed for 20 tries in 28 appearances with the Broncos, but failed to transfer that form.

Kemp featured in nine of the Warriors' first ten games but played just once more against Brisbane in round 17 to finish with a grand total of one try from ten outings with his new club.

He expressed his desire to return home in a bid to establish himself as an NRL player, with the Broncos indicating they were keen to talk to the Brisbane Wests junior.

"If Denan or his manager approached the club about the possibility of coming back to the Broncos, then the club would be more than happy to have a talk to them about it," Broncos football manager Peter Nolan said.

Kemp said he was grateful to the Warriors for heeding his request.

"While I haven't played as much NRL football as either the club or I would have liked, I have still enjoyed myself here," Kemp said in a statement released by the club.

"But in the end I really wanted the chance to go back home to try to establish myself."

Yeah he was really good last year, the warriors have really sucked this year and hence maybe why he is being rated so poorly!

I would take him for sure, he could definately replace covell for mine

Would be a good pickup at a cheap price.

I believe his true talent is somewhere between what we saw at Brisbane and what we haven't seen at Warriors. Not a start but you'd think he'd be a worthy first grader under the right conditions.

I think he'd be a great buy. Tho surely he and Brisbane have already agreed to terms and it just hasn't been made public yet. I dont think he would have agreed to getting released yet until something was on the table.

But if he is available i say get him definitely.

Depends on the money required. He does have speed which is something we sadly lack. Didn't he play Origin only 2 years ago? He will be pushing it to make it back to the Broncos who have a number of options in the backline. Imagine if we had a winger that could sprint and also kick goals...

Considering that super simmo was on like $150 (forgot where I read that)

I would happily pay $140.

He would be the best player in our backs for sure. The only other player coming close would be Fergo, and possibly collis?

He is only 22 as well.

No way mate, he isnt that good. Lote for mine, he wants a sydney club and would be the dynamic back we need.

Kemp is a good finisher and has good speed. He would be an upgrade on the wing, but I think he would be looking for a club where he can get an opportunity in the #1 jersey, where he played all of his junior and most of his Qld Cup footy before making the NRL.

Yep I agree,

He was quality last year, we would have been absolutely stoked if we could have nabbed him. He hasnt seen play this year and his' value has dived, he would be an awesome buy and significantly cheaper than he was last year.

Kemp would be an improvement on any of our wingers, so is worth a look, also Tuqiri is worth a look has the X factor we need, put those to boys on our flanks and we look like a whole new team

Yep that is exactly right they have the x factor which we really don thave at the moment, I would be happy getting one as Fergo is going to be a star in a couple of seasons
