Your thoughts on Simmo this year? at the end of last year to the start of this year there was much said about whether or not he could fill the boots of david peachey. i think he has done a more than capable job, especially during that winning streak, and he deserves more wraps than he gets. unfortunate that he is injured at the moment.

david simmons has fitted in so well, and has improved each game. he is very safe now, and his running returns are improving week to week. we need to hang onto him for a very long time. he has a lots of 1st grade games up his sleave already.

He has filled in really well, unfortunately he is in the middle of an injury.
what if minichello is injured again, who will play then? if simmo is in form they will pick him and there is a good chance he will be in great form and is what has simmo done wrong anyway. without him we wouldn't be in the top 8. he seems stronger than peachey.

at the moment peachy is playing far better he has had a new lease on life.if minchello gets injured they will agian pick hodgeson,or brett stewartor hornbey and as for australia there is inglis hunt bowen just add to the mix.simmons needs at least three more years

Simmons is a safe fullback, he hasnt done much wrong this year except get injured. As for David Peachey, he is playing awsome for souths, he is turning into a playmaker, sets up heaps of souths tries, they should move him to 5/8.

simmo wont be aust. fb there are to many players better than him...hes to safe for me, needs to be more adventurous and try to get involved more like karmichael hunt, hunt comes into the 2nd reciever role sometimes and dominates or more like hornby, hornby is a top utility...simmo is a good player, but with his speed he can be something much better

I think with a player like David Simmons you have to think about the long term. And long term he looks like something special. He has all the attributes.. size, speed, good hands, and Ive heard he can kicks goals at least as good as Cov's does.
He still has some aspects of the game to work on; like defence. But as he gets older he'll bulk up and he'll get tougher and this will come.
He's been better at fullback than Peachey. The reason the sharks got rid of Peachey was cause he never followed the game plan. Simmons does.
Simmons is right up there on the running metres stats, and he's right up there on the tackle breaks stats but its the intangible's that make him such a good player - like the quick rolls he gets when he's tackled which make it so much easier for the next person to make easy metres around the ruck.
Simmons, born and bred local, passionate about the sharks. I'll take him as our fullback everyday.
