Do you think that any of our players are a chance of winning anything?
I think Gallen, Kimmorley, Covell and Ricky Stuart are our best chances in their positions, maybe Gallen player of the year.

gallen would have a massive shot at lock of the year and ricky stuart will have to fight off neil henry for coach of the year

sticky will get coach of the year

a team that has done nothing for 5 years needs a damn good coach to get them to equal first on the ladder

covell should get winger of the year but wont

gallen- lock
cant see any others getting anything

dally m will be someone who just gets the three points just because of the postion they play or there role in the match

i.e thurston, orford, anasta getting man of the match each week because they were halfback and skipper of the winning team
or
a player kicking a winning field goal with 20 seconds to go, gets hero status and immediatley gets three points

Ricky for coach of the year
Seymour for 5/8 of the year
Cov for winger of the year

Best chances are Stuart for Coach of the Year & Covell Most Points scored. Gallen for lock of the year, he loses points for being suspended & also played some time in second row, I think (not too sure) but if he was awarded 3 points for playing Second Row it goes to his second row position tally ?

If Ricky doesn't get Coach of the Year then there is something wrong. To take a bunch of guys that are not superstars to a top four spot is an amazing feat.

I just hope they don't do what they normally do and just give it to the coach who wins the minor premiership. I know the Storm had a tough time during Origin and should really be 6 points further in front, but the talent he has had to work with is nothing short of brilliant. Smith, Slater, Folau, Inglis, Cronk, Geyer and Crocker is the nucleus of a side any coach could take to the top, so that should go against Bellamy. Des Hasler is obviously another candidate but there have been plenty of games this year that Manly should have won but didn't. Neil Henry also deserves a mention after what he has done with a Canberra side that most people thought should win the wooden spoon.

i cant see gall getting lock of the year when hes played only a few games at lock this season (yes well all know he can play it and played there for NSW and AUS but week-in-week out hes been playing second row)...i think he will be named in the side somewhere tho if not at lock then it will be second row. i think dallas johnson will be the lock.

noddy deserves halfback of the year..thurston and prince are the other two candidates but have been affected by injury. other contenders: cronk has been queit, wallace has had injuries, pearce has been inconsistent, finch has an underperforming side, orford i think really hasnt done too much either.

and even though as a queenslander i used to hate ricky stuart with a passion but the minute he signed with cronulla i had to bury that hate as i and everyone knows he is a great coach and deserves coach of the year for what hes done to our football side. thanks sticky :)

busta has had a great season but i doubt he'll be rewarded. and as a covell bagger in the past, i would be happy to see him grab one of the wing spots however i think he will be edged out. he has really turned his form around since almost being dropped against the bulldogs mid year

i suppose he is the better halfback of the top 4 sides

and since he is the halfback, he is guaranteed a dally m point(or points) everytime the team wins

i really think the point giverer outerers should stop leaning towards halfbacks, as a clubs only means of success, i mean our halfback isn't fantastic is he? is it reflected on our ladder position? no

I agree halfbacks do get more than a fair amount of dally m points, although debatible I think bashing thru the defense is worth more praise than passing a or kicking a ball

I think based on recent form, Noddy is a chance at Half or player of the year.

Kearney may have had a chance if he didn't miss so much time.

Buster has no chance. Inglis will be 5/8 of the year - it's debatable that he plays there, but he wears #6.

im pretty sure orford was leading them dally m voting when it went underground in round 16. my best bet would say he gets it which is bull**** considering he is nowhere near being the best player in the comp. kurt gidley has a good shot as well i reckon. my bolter would be chris heighington.

i also believe that all state of origin players get 1 point for their game. am i right, somebody?
