So, I thought I'd swing by to let you fine Sharksforever folk know that the CSSC will be back in 2012. We're coinciding the release of our 2012 memberships with those of the Sharks, which means that they'll be available on September 27.

A brief run down of what we'll be offering:

1. Standard Membership - $50
You'll get a CSSC shirt, membership card, access to our forum and voting rights. You'll also get subsidised access to our legendary bus of dreams (see below).

2. Regional Membership - $50
Only available to people living outside of the Sydney metro area. You'll receive the same stuff as in the Standard Membership, except to make up for the fact that you're probably not going to join us on too many bus rides, we'll pay your way into any Sharks premiership game in 2012.

3. Cage Membership - $TBC
Same benefits as the Standard Membership, except you'll also get a seat in the Cage.

So - what's the Bus of Dreams?

The most noticeable difference between the bus of dreams and any run-of-the-mill bus is the addition of several bins full of ice located strategically around the interior. Inside those bins, you'll typically find a range of beverages catering to the individual tastes of the people on board. A bus ride usually costs between $5 and $10, and that includes access to all of those aforementioned beverages. Therefore, the longer the bus ride, the higher the likelihood of raucous behaviour.

Anyway, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, thoughts, hatemail or otherwise relating to the CSSC... leave them in this thread.

Cheers

Do you get a hat anymore?

Yes, we'll still have them available.

In the past, it was $67 for new members to join and a hat was included. After the first year, it only cost $50 to renew but you wouldn't get a new hat.

This year, we're changing it up. Standard or regional membership is $50, and you can pay the extra $17 if you want to get the hat. If you don't want it, then we won't force it on you... but the option will be there.

Despite not being able to sit or really travel with the CSSC, I will be purchasing a Regional Membership next year. Great value.

With the season rapidly approaching, I thought it'd be worth highlighting a few changes to the CSSC this year - with particular relevance to those Sharks fans who aren't members.

1. We'll be encouraging much greater participation by non-members in 2012
In the past, we've been fairly exclusive. If you wanted to come on the bus with us, you generally had to be a member or a guest of a member. (This wasn't a hard and fast rule, but we certainly didn't advertise outside of our membership.) This year, we're inviting all Sharks fans to join us on the Bus of Dreams.

2. The Bus of Dreams will be the focal point of what we do.
Case in point: round one pub crawl through Leichhardt prior to the Tigers game. More to come. We'll be bringing the dreams back to the Bus of Dreams in 2012.

Any questions or thoughts - fire away.

To be honset i havent really been paying attention to the current happenings, but, just curiously, i was a cage member last year and as such was a cssc member as a result. Now as i renewed my membership with the Sharks in the cage again for this year, does that automatically renew my membership with the cssc?

Hi Parko, purchasing a cage seat does get you the CSSC membership as well as part of the package

We should be doing something for the Warriors game, it depends how many of our members make the trek over though.

i understand that, but is that a new membership, or a renewal of my existing membership?

This has got me most interested in the CSSC this year.

Whilst I've always admired the CSSC and fully appreciated the support they give the Sharks, a full membership has never appealed to me.

Yes the away games sound like a lot of fun, but I have never been a fan of where they sit at Shark Park. I'll never give up the seat I have cherished for over 10 years in the ET Stand for a seat in the Peter Burns Concourse.

But I'm thinking me and my bro will be on that bus to Leichhardt in Round 1.

A fair few members of the CSSC actually don't sit in the cage. So don't feel you have to become a Cage Member & sit there. The best thing if thinking of going to alot of away games, A Standard CSSC Membership might be the go, As the prices for Bus Trips will be alot cheaper throughout the season if you are a member. But as Garbs said, We will be opening the doors to all Sharks fans for Away games.

I have been a member of the CSSC since 2008 and have never sat in the cage as I generally go to games with friends or family that aren't members.
I am looking forward to the bus of dreams trip to Penrith this year though.

I would strongly encourage any Sharks fans to join the CSSC, regardless if you want to sit in The Cage or not. It looks fantastic to see our fans all wearing the same supporters jersey. It's a show of strength and a sign that Sharks supporters are not without passion, as many claim. Plus, if you do visit The Cage now and then, you'll have a barrell of fun!

On another point; can a CSSC guru tell me what the go is with my CSSC membership this year? I bought a family CSSC membership for The Cage from the Club. Is that all I have to do or do I need to contact you guys as well?

That's all you need to do.
