@Tatus check out the presser from tonight & tell us what's going on with Fitz about 6.30 in when he starts crunching his hands and biting his lip.

Can certainly tell Fitz hates the new drop-out rule as well.

Surely tricky can kick them longer right? If we are going to go long, may as well belt it either long or to the sideline. Nichos are pedestrian

I love Tricky and would agree he has the bigger boot but also a tendency to misfire sometimes.

If the first contact from chase is a little better alot of Nicho's kicks last night probably look more positive.
Some from within our own half were a bit shortish from memory though(not sure what the wind was like last night, wasn't there).
Will wait until watched the replay to pass judgement.

Just meaning the drop outs. Nicho tends to always shank them. His in play kicking was good last night.

Ah yeah, that's fair.

Sorry was just about to reply to @bort saying I meant more from an attacking perspective. We weren’t great at forcing them last year either but doesn't even really seem to be an option for us on most sets.

Nicho's 5th tackle kicks are more about placement, execution and finesse than outright power and distance. Unfortunately sometimes we need the outright distance and long power and don't get it.

At least he doesn't give away 7 tackle sets by kicking too far, but he really rains it back too much sometimes I feel. give our chasers a chance I get that but they aren't Olympic sprinters.

As for short vs. long drop outs, well our improved wall of defense should give us confidence to go either way short or long as the situation calls for and whatever the outcome of the kick back our defense to sort it out and keep the opposition from going over.

I think we should start having a crack at going short most times. We have Ronnie and Wilton on one side who are both tall and can both jump pretty well.

Our dropouts don’t go real far and I like our defence atm that I don’t think it’s going to make to much difference between tackling them on the 30-40 or tackling them 15-20 out on tackle one.

I’m pretty sure we got one back off the Warriors and went the field to score the same set? If it looks like it’s not working in our favour then stop doing it.

We haven’t won 3 in a row to start the season since Chris Anderson was coach in 2002.

I've always liked Fitz but this **** has to stop. It's his third year now and it's well and truly his team.

Early days this season for sure but if nothing changes the rest of the year then I think plenty will have lost faith.

Yeah I would call it blind faith that I have in him. Really want it to work out but performances like tonight just keep rearing their ugly head

It’s just hype about good teams assistants

At this stage are we genuinely better off than if we kept Morris?
It’s pretty bad I can’t definitively say yes

These sort of games predate him though. No coach has worked out how to get complacency out of our club culture, except maybe Flanno, but we had our fair share of complacent performances under him too.

I honestly dont think any coach can fix that bad trait at this club.

It's a structural part of our DNA

Cronulla teams have to have a built-in bedshit
