What was Trindall going to do?
Ideally not be sat on the pine for 80 mins doing nothing
Maybe if someone got injured he could have be subbed on and kicked 2 points for us to win
Yep an additional forward wouldn't have made a difference cause they prob would have sat on the bench for 80 mins just like Tricky
I understand that Tricky can't be expected to go on and perform miracles and that it's not mandatory to use your 4th benchy and that you shouldn't throw them out onto the field for the sake of it without purpose or the intention of adding value especially if you think the team is going along well.
However you can not tell me that our players are so fit, in tough conditions with the Warriors piling on points that there wouldn't have been a case to give one of them a breather interchanging with another middle forward. Hunt wasn't having a great game, Rudolf was starting to suck them in, Dale had worked really hard ect. and then we might have had golden point to get through.
It might not have made a difference but it also might have been the difference especially if it was Hunt that got interchanged towards the end.
Our backline/spine rarely get injured and Nicho is either fit or he isn't but Tricky got similar treatment on the bench last season as well.
Last week against a weaker team in the Dragons and Hynes first game back from injury coach Fitz went with a 4 forward bench although Tricky might have been injured still he didn't put Tracey on the bench either so is fitness that much of a concern in our spine?
Glad to see Fitz has shown some sense this week down on troops not wasting a bench spot on a utility/backup. All those 4 forwards on the bench will get game time and so they should cause our starting forwards sure will have their work cut out for them.
Having Trindall and Tracey on the reserves list makes sense incase of pre-game injuries or HIA replacement ect. it gives us some options.
