Yep great season for a rookie coach.

A lot to work on over the off season, defence is nowhere near what people make it out to be.
It was during the regular season, it wasn't in finals series. Big difference. But then again that's your opinion to which you're entitled.

In a way us getting smashed and straight out of the comp gives him the reality check he needed because even he was suprised how well we went (people got mad at me for saying we haven’t faced much quality opposition.. clearly we weren’t up to it 76 points leaked in two games)

Deep inside everyone probably felt the same, but it's when people outside the club say it, that's when we start getting defensive about it and don't want to admit it.

Yeah sure, it was good against **** teams.
Agree.
Easy to have a rock solid defence when teams have nothing to throw against it.
Its all well and good nilling Dogs, and keeping Manly, Knights, Tigers to low scores yet getting flogges by Storm ( 34 concdeded round 6), Roosters (36 conceded round 12), plus the embarrassment that was the finals

I think last nights and the week befores performance shows not only where the team is at but also the coach.

I think you guys are being a bit too harsh. We were short of 3 very important players and some injuries like Dale. We have seen during the season even the best teams struggle when they have key players out. Opposition was full strength. I am not saying we would have won for sure but I think the game would be a bit more competitive. So let’s cut them some slack.

Having said that these defeats gets you more hungry.

Injuries to Talakai, Hunt and Katoa coupled with players playing injured.

Was always going to be a tough one. First season as a head coach, Fitz will be better for it next year.
We certainly missed Katoa (really evident last night) & not to forget Williams .

Also don't think Finucane has been the "new Gallen" as hoped & Wilton has not progressed as fast as expected to put pressure on Wade

I do not think Finucane needs to be the "new Gallen"; he just needs t be Finucane and I am fine with that. Wilton was progressing fine but Wade coming back hindered that. If Wade's injury lasted a bit longer, I do not think he could get the jersey from Wilton.

For however disappointed any of us are i believe it is nowhere close to what he would have felt last night , he looked gutted and shell shocked at the presser . I don't believe he expected that after last week .
He will have learnt heaps from this season , about himself and quite a few of the players . He has some tough calls to make and i'm sure he won't be scared to make them . We will be a better team and coach for this year , a year i think if we were all honest has been far superior to anything we expected .
I personally wouldn't want any other guy coaching my team , he's all class .

Press conference
“Fitz who wins it from here?”
“Not us”
This straight sets loss will have Fitz scouring the corners of the earth to find the missing link.
Yeah if you watch the presser you can tall he's already looking at next year, think he even said it but you know he's pissed at that defensive effort we showed in the finals and will want a better performance.

I expect the second off season now they've learnt the systems will be better for everyone and they can improve on it more easily.

I honestly think this is true but also think if Wilton was given the position full time, his progression would have been a lot better, but was stunted due to sharing the role with Graham.

I'm disappointed with how the team performed in both final games.

In my opinion, though, this has been a successful year. Fitzy is on the right path.

Something missing at the moment will take the team to the next level. I trust fitzy can find it.

Uele won’t be anywhere near that team if he doesn’t improve 10 fold on the past fortnight. His defence is horrendous and a large reason for our poor ruck defence.
