The big issue is Hynes at the moment. His 'eyes up' approach isn't working
I can’t hate on Hynes, the kid has to do everything for us it’s not his fault.. he’s always trying and never gives up. He needs help, he’s got loads of talent and he’s only in his 8th game in first grade in the halves he ain’t the issue it’s what’s around him. Even when Mciness made the break the only player there was Hynes

We are getting worse which means a lot of the players we have aren’t actually that good they just flourish when the goings good, you don’t want those types of players littered in your squad.

I wouldn’t be jumping at re signing Nikora, Moylan, Graham, Fifita.. we should be holding onto our $ and making plays at serious players
100% agree.
Moylan and Hynes combo doesnt work when the going gets tough. Instead they look lost and go left to right.

Graham/Fifita - thanks for the memories, but as long as they're around thats all itll be - memories.

Nikora - worked well in rookie yr off SJ but doesn't work well with Hynes. Move on

Use that on Vaughan, Matto etc
Make the squad stronger
Cause doing same thing time over and over expecting different results is definition of insanity

Yes mate 100%

I cringed when Fitz said he wants to keep this squad together because from last year we already knew what type of players we have. I get the sentiment but if we want to be heavyweights we need to make some changes

You'll have to be careful with the effort player thinking mate 😏

I'm not hating on him, just that if it's not working it needs to change. And it's not working. I'm not thinking he needs to step out of the seven...

A player with effort AND talent I’ll take 🤓 I hear you I just don’t think he’s the problem, we’ve won games literally off his own back there arent too many halves you can say that about

If we re-sign Moylan and Wade im deadset not renewing my membership.
Im fed up paying good hard earned money and getting served dogshit.
Least with Kayo i can turn it off from confort of my lounge rather than having to trudge 15min up hill back to my car.

Watching the game tonight, to me Hynes is playing more like a traditional 5/8. He runs a lot out wide and is getting tackled a lot on the 4th and 5th tackle.

When Trindall came on and we actually had some ball, he really straightened our attacked around the ruck.

I'm starting to think whether we should by trying a Trindall / Hynes combo. Not that I think Moyan has been playing that bad - more that we don't have a plan B with these two.

Would love to upgrade Nikora to Matterson or Crichton and by the sounds of things won’t cost much more

Thats the thing
With Wade and Fifita off contract weve got the financial clout available to make those upgrades on Nikora.
We havent needed Wade or Fifita for 2 years really and have managed without them both for long periods so we can grab squad players to fill their roles in the team

Some big calls to be made if we are going to get on track.

Teig is showing he needs to be our left edge second rower. We are consistently going through patches where we get rolled in the middle, so something needs to change there also.

I wonder if we could try:

8. Toby
10. Finucane
11. Nikora
12. Teig
13. Wade

14. Mcinnes
15. Hunt
16. Tolman
17. Hazleton

Or if preferable, swap Wade and Cam, but it just seems like he wants to start Wade.

Since he wants to start Wade I like that, but he’d also play Trindall not Hazelton.

I think beteen Teig, Graham, McInnes we don’t need Trindall there but Fitz clearly wants the half cover.

Yeah he has shown he wants Tricky there, but we keep losing the ruck for periods. I think we need to have another go with 4 forwards.

You’re only rotating the middles though, not bringing 4 on.

4th guy won’t get a look in until late and enough can play big minutes we can definitely get by without.

I don't disagree, just think a 4th fresh middle could come on when Tricky has been and make some impact to help us there.

I like it. I'm a big fan of McInnes coming off the bench.

Great article. I'm glad his this tough behind close doors because I was a bit worried how calm he was at press conferences after losing.
Yeah agree great article. Good to read a lot of positive press on Fitz but also nice to hear BHU coming in on day off to do some extra juijitsu with the coach
