It's a forum mate, every aspect of the club and team will get scrutinised, as it should.
Spot on. Its such a nothing argument too, because it assumes that everyone that has coached/played at the highest level would always agree with each other and do the job the same. John Morris coached and played at the highest level, but he must have done something wrong because Fitz has his job now. And if that coach can do something wrong, couldn't any? Therefore opening them all to criticism.

“I think I’m a traditional No.6; he [Cleary] likes to play on ball, I like to be on that second or third layer with a good halfback,” Hynes said.

Sounds pretty clear cut to me but what would Hynes know🤣

It was interesting to hear Luke Keary on Fox/Kayo after the game, saying how we have totally changed our game since the final last year…

“They’ve had a big shift in their game, Cronulla. I remember playing them last year year in the semi final, they were a difficult team to defend, you’d be defending a lot of shifts, Nicho was on ball, one of the highest teams for shifts coming out of yardage. This year, I remember playing them, we did a bit of work on them, they’ve flipped their game into outside backs are taking a heap of carries in that Penrith style, then the forwards take over. They’re playing a lot more conservative, less offloads, less shifts, kicking game in the corner, kick chase, they’ve really simplified their game.”

He was being complimentary but seemed a bit surprised still. I’m not convinced myself...

Keary was good on the panel, and obviously well liked by the Sharks players based on comments during their interviews. Looks like he’ll have a good future in the media or as a coach.

I liked him but I struggled to hear him at times.

Maybe it was a mic issue?

Blind Freddy can see the changes we’ve made.

Well he’s the first person I’ve seen to state it as a deliberate change from one season to the next.

It’s one thing to sense it, another to state it
It’s been mentioned a few times from people. Even Fitz has said stuff relating to it.

I think it's a matter of going backwards before you can go forwards.

I feel Fitz was surprised by the attacking style that occurred with Moylan and Hynes in the first year so he let it go.

Once he realised the negatives with it (eg plenty of dropped balls and our edges defence struggling etc) he reined it in.

Our style changed with out 6 weeks to go last year.

I think our attack will naturally get better the more Hynes and Trindall (or Atko) play together - but not at the expense of our main game style.

It was good to see the Sharks boys having some banter with Keary after the game.

All the guys they interviewed - McInnes, Talakai, Rudolf - are South Sydney juniors. Probably all played with Keary when they were younger.
I guess that's what the wrestling champ comment was about. That was good, put a very cheeky Keary in his box 🙂
