<EDITED>

* ALL roads lead to Tam-worth on Saturday with the CRL set to honour bush legend Frank Fish's contribution to the game at West Tamworth Leagues Club.

Not surprisingly given Fish's 40-year involvement at all levels of the CRL, there has been a big response, with officials from almost every bush region attending.

* THE much-anticipated local derby between Port Macquarie clubs Port City (Group 3) and the Sharks (Group 2) will be played on Saturday.

While it is only a trial, with the two clubs playing in separate competitions, city bragging rights will ensure it is a no-holds-barred confrontation.

Since Port City was formed seven years ago, the two clubs have never played each other.

* GROUP 20 club Yenda are the latest winners of the coveted Clayton Cup, presented annually to the most successful club side in bush football.

The 2009 premiers were presented with the cup last night at a function in Griffith attended by CRL chairman Jock Colley and chief executive Terry Quinn.

* FORMER Bathurst Panthers captain-coach Dave Elvy is believed to be among front-runners for the Country Seconds coaching job this season.

For the first time in many years, the Seconds concept is back on the CRL's representative calendar.

The squad, to be chosen from the Country Championships second-tier competition, will take on Queensland Outback in a one-off game in Roma on July 24.

The CRL is still taking coaching applications.

* COULD this be an omen? Last year, Wagga Kangaroos clinched the West Wyalong pre-season knockout before going on to win the Group 9 premiership.

Last weekend, the Roos won back-to-back knockouts with a tough 6-0 win over host club West Wyalong in the final.

They outlasted Wagga Brothers in the semifinal 12-10 before taking out the decider.
