Heard on the news that the players don't want Noddy.

I can see why they wouldn't. It hasn't been long enough since he was one of their peers. I can't imagine Gal or any of the other older guys giving him the respect he would need to coach the team. They tried it with Fitler and Nathan Brown and it didn't work. The players need someone more removed.

Also, with all the talk of Noddy being a good tactician, I don't remember him creating much for us. His flat style of play that he got from Anderson was boring.

My vote is to throw Henry in there. He can't be too expensive as he hasn't got anyone else begging for his signature. Sign him for 3 years. Sorry Flanno, you ****ed up.

I'm happy with Hermans promotion to assistant coach. He might even spice up our attack a bit, the NSW Cup team had some nice set plays.

No to Sheens

I'm ok if it ends up being Noddy

Just don't try to sly dog the NRL by paying Flanno and allowing him to have input.

Thats the way I see last nights board decision given they have decided not to bring in anyone.
Flanno will still be basically coaching the team in the background from home or some other role the club finds for him.

Does anyone else think that the club may in a way be forced to make some attempt to defend the charges from the NRL to demonstrate it's belief that it did not put players safety and welfare at risk - So as to lay a platform to fend off any possible legal action from players?

Board announced Sharp coach with Hermen and Sheperd assistants

thats what i said to snowy yesterday that i think would happen. little disruption to the team at all, same structures in place. having the NSW cup coach working closer to the first grade coach and team is something that will only benefit the club IMO.

Flanno will still get paid and will coach behind the scenes for however long his suspension turns out to be.
Thats why no one else is being brought in.
Nil money being saved and probably no change to playing style as well.

If flanno gets caught at one training session the media will go bananas.

I reckon they've appointed sharpie because they have some confidence in flanno getting off.

Otherwise we are squeezing 4 jobs into three and I can't see how long that could work.

This decision is in the best interests of the various personalities concerned but it is not in the best interests of the fans. Why? Because it gives us no chance of winning this year and thus very little chance of ever winning with our current, ageing team. Before we know it we'll be rebuilding again.

Peter Sharpe isn't this club or any others choice to coach first grade. If Flanno resigned tomorrow, would Sharpe get the job? No. Why? Because it wouldn't give the team the best chance of winning the comp. So by putting him in now, they're basically accepting that victory comes 2nd. Harsh but fair. It would be different if our assistant was an up and coming young coach ready to have a crack, like Flanno 3 years ago. But he isn't.

This is why we've never won a comp. because time and again we don't make the most professional decision.

The players want Sharpe probably. Since when do they pick the coach?

This is no time to circle the wagons. Man up and bring in a new coach on a one year deal and say to the world we've done the crime, we'll do the time.

Too many generalisations and assumptions
