Nice to see Sharks not taking crap for once. I'd much like to see this circulated a bit, and have Broncos and Wayne's name brought up in it. I doubt it will get a run anywhere, but it shows Broncos are just sooking.

Had to be said. Hopefully the days of the Sharks being an easy target are close to gone.

I agree with you mate.

If all is good and we did everything correctly then why do we need to say anything?

Putting out a statement to me is a message that we may have some doubts and we'd better say something to cover ourselves.

Let Bennett sook.

He's gone so far down the peg of good coaches. He's had his day and there's no doubt he was highly successful but I think it's time he called it a day.

That absolutely required the stated response as given by the club.

Wayne is damaged goods these days courtesy of his dusty results at Newcastle and leaving his wife. He traded off his family man image for many a long year. He is either senile or posturing.

This statement should see the end of it.

The NRL should IMO at the very least caution wayne about those comments. Its damaging to the club, the medical staff and the game in general. If they had an issue contacting the club should have been the first thing they did, not mumble some garbage to a reporter.

But as ive said, this wouldnt happen if the nrl sort out their player transfer system. Allowing players to sign at a new club, then play an entire season is not good. All transfers should be immediate prior to june 30 then no more deals done until after the season. Means no player runs out for his current team after signing elsewhere

Disagree wholeheartedly Chad.
Why should the Sharks just sit back and "accept" the complete BS and let them just get away with it?
Bennett needs to pull his head in and the NRL should caution/ fine him for the blatant lies he is spreading.
He is not only accusing the Sharks medical staff as being incompetent but must also be accusing the Kangaroos medical team also! If Jack was unfit, he wouldn't have been passed to play PNG.

The NRL should stay well out of it. Whilst in all likelihood Bennett is full of ****, Doctors are fallible and though unlikely, the Sharks and the Australian medical teams could have both been mistaken.

The medical professionals from the Sharks and the Australian team can sue Bennett for impugning their reputations if they feel they have had their reputations damaged by Bennett. I doubt any of the doctors involved have lost a moments sleep over it. Who is interested in Wayne Bennett's medical opinion.

Just because what someone says isn't worth listening to it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be refuted.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the masses.

That's just Wayne trying to show he "cares" about Bird. Bird seems like a fairly impressionable man, and I don't believe for one second that Wayne isn't manipulating the bloke. I wouldn't be surprised if Bird can't keep his mouth shut and keeps bagging us... and Wayne will agree with him

Couldn't agree more. That is Wayne's modus operandi. Bennett knows he can say that stuff because the NRL has to cover its arse.
